Re: rsync from one SD card to another

What command do you use? Is there only one partition on a MiSTer SD card?

rsync from one SD card to another

Has anyone used rsync to copy one MiSTer SD card to another?

Genesis gamesmenu problem

In gamesmenu I see Genesis (which I think is labeled "old") and Mega Drive. When I enable MD in gamesmenu and generate the menu everything works fine, but if I exit the script and then start it again the MD option has been disabled. All of the other cores that I've enabled stay enabled.

Re: Neo Geo Not Working With Favorites/Gameslist Scripts

Everything works great with .neo files.

Are game titles in the MiSTer menus always based on filenames? The .neo files I have use abbreviated filenames which are being used for the game titles.

Re: BIOS Files Required?

Ok it looks like the BIOS files must be pulled in by update_all. Why would the script pull in PSX BIOS files but not Saturn BIOS files?

BIOS Files Required?

Do I need to find BIOS files to play Playstation ROMs? If so is there a region-free BIOS so I can use the gamesmenu script?

Re: Saturn Core Not Working

Found some BIOSes and got it working with some US ROMs. I will see if Japanese ROMs work and then I'll see if I can load both from gamesmenu.

Re: Saturn Core Not Working

That looks like a great one for CHD files. I don't see any BIOS files there though. I tried searching but nothing relevant came up. Where do you find those?

Re: Saturn Core Not Working

Got it. In that case is Saturn compatible with the gamesmenu script? I don't think gamesmenu would know how to match rom and bios.

BTW is there a favorite source for Saturn stuff on Archive? I'm having trouble finding something that doesn't nearly always end in a failed download.

Re: Neo Geo Not Working With Favorites/Gameslist Scripts

My Neo Geo roms aren't zipped but each game is a folder with several files in each folder like you described. Is gamesmenu incompatible with that layout? I should find individual .neo files instead?

Re: Neo Geo Not Working With Favorites/Gameslist Scripts

I've definitely run those scripts several times as I've tried to get this working. I remember there is a Generate Menu option in the gamesmenu dialog and I've also run that several times. Does Neo Geo work for you with gamesmenu?

Cursor Moves 2 Spaces Instead of 1

Has anyone else had trouble with the cursor that highlights text moving 2 spaces instead of 1 when moving up or down? It only happens in the Scripts dialogs like ini_settings and gamesmenu but it happens every time I move up or down there so it isn't due to accidentally moving twice. The real MiSTer menus work fine. I'm using a Neo II Fighting Stick.

I'm trying to play Saturn games for the first time. I dropped a few CHD files on the Saturn folder but trying to load them I get an error something like CD BIOS missing.

Neo Geo Not Working With Favorites/Gameslist Scripts

The Favorites and Gameslist scripts work great here except with Neo Geo. They don't seem to pick up those games and instead act like the folder is empty. Any way to fix that?

Several solutions there including the above which I'll assume would be overwritten at the next update. I'll see if I can get the router to assign static DNS.

Persistent 8.8.8.8 DNS

Is using the following in dhcpcd.conf the best way to set a static DNS address:

domain_name_servers=8.8.8.8

Will it be overwritten the next time I update?

Re: MiSTer case upgrade

The newer version of the MiSTerAddons case should at least prevent the microSD card from falling in which is good. That sounds great. Any reference online? Any ETA that you know of? I find that another microsd card inserted into a USB reader makes a good tool for removing the microsd card in the aluminum case - or at least getting it ejected from ...
