Re: Analogue Duo?

After watching, I don't think I will need to open mine until at least the next firmware. I have very little Japanese and USA Hucards, and my OG Everdrive won't work with it. Hopefully a jailbreak will be soon. Even the Pocket still gives me audio sync issues. I'll play on Mister for now.

Analogue Duo?

I was a VERY early buyer on day 1 of the Analogue Duo. I have an email (like previous products of theirs) that I need to correct a shipping address or forever hold my peace. I have reason to think it will possibly ship tomorrow, but hence my wonder... How is it that I may get mine at the same time or before youtubers like MLIG, RetroRGB and others?...

I've been following the amazing process on this core via coverage on YT: Video Game Esoterica, Pixel Cherry Ninja, and Lu's Retro Source (highly suggested channels for this and many other videos! Hello to you trio!!). With my Everdrive, I'm not testing incremental builds personally, but I really look forward to the surprise when the words 'Nintendo...

Re: Electronic Games/Electronic Board Games + MADrigal Simulators

That is great news about the decap already done on Sean Riddle's page. If anyone is up for it, I'd be happy to help at the very least of HQ scans of the 20 character cards, player sheet, etc. At least for the DnD Labyrinth game, the playfield is FLAT. All these games you mention would indeed be fun on the Pocket as well. I might even be able to sol...

Electronic Games/Electronic Board Games + MADrigal Simulators

I've enjoyed the MADrigal Simulators for years: http://www.madrigaldesign.it/sim/download.php ...and it has been ported to many platforms. These are a nice companion to the Game & Watch core, and I wondered if a port be possible for MiSTer. Maybe it can run like ScummVM on the arm side of things? It's got a nice game selection (the Dungeons and...

Re: Splatterhouse and a Few Others

Just tested and working great on MiSTer. For some reason on Pocket, all Jotego cores work great EXCEPT Splatterhouse (nor the two alternative Splatterhouse roms). All else working great with the jtbeta.zip file in the root and using an updater. On Splatterhouse, I get 'Error in framework Missing 'Rom' ID[1]' I realize this is the MiSTer forum and n...

Re: Analogue N64 Product

Anyone else think the naming scheme is odd? 'Mega SG' for Mega Drive 'Super NT' for Super Nintendo ... even NEC had an actual DUO name in a product. 'Pocket' made sense instead of a name with 'GB' in it [example: The 'AGB'] since it supports multiple systems... The 'Analogue 3D' [maybe will be nicknamed 'A3D'?] as a product name seems [to me] an od...

Re: Analogue N64 Product

Wouldn't surprise me is in a year of so, Analogue's NEXT product is a 4K model of the PS1. Well, next NEW console re-imagining, anyway. Before that, you KNOW the limited editions of the N64 will have the now established funtastic Pocket colors. I look forward to seeing the shell of this thing.

Re: CD-I - Willing to Donate One to the Right Developer

Yes, I am sure it will happen one day too. The CD-I may be the 'pick me last' guy in gym class, but when all the other cores are done, it will be the elephant in the room, which... is still an elephant. :) It will be nice to experiment with foreign language curiosities and oddities I just can't get myself to burn a cd for. Re: CD-I - Willing to Donate One to the Right Developer

Thus far, I have not had any takers on my offer. This does not surprise me, but it's ok- hopefully someday a core will happen. Maybe after N64 and Saturn are done... we have Neo Geo CD, I think an Amiga CD32 being worked on; eventually I'm sure someone will take on the CD-I and 3DO. As a fairly new owner of a LG branded CD-I (the BEST model in my o...

Are the games required to be on the same storage unit as the ScummVM script directory, or can they be put in a games folder on an external drive? Re: Neo Geo CD Core

I'm looking forward to trying out the 8bitDo NeoGeo CD inspired controller for this core. Does anyone know of any alternative to buying it from Amazon? Ebay would be 2nd hand options or 'new' if drop-shipping from Amazon, so I'm avoiding that. Will other reliable vendors (Stone Age Gamer, Castlevania Games, etc) eventually be getting them in stock?...

Thanks for all the kind words, everyone. As soon as I had the disk images, I had tested them in MiSTer. It's funny and goes to show how good the MiSTer project is... I first tried loading them in 3 different emulators but configuring them was a hassle (haven't used them in a while). I added the disks to my RetroNAS, fired up the MiSTer and all were...

Atari 800XL - New game preservation releases for the community

I wanted to offer my own game preservation efforts, and was able to do so for the Atari 8-bit computer line and community with 4 previously undumped commercial games. I tested them with the Atari 800 MiSTer core (remember to use the .atx files - not the .scp ones which are for preservation purposes). All games work great! The games are by ALA Enter...

Wow, I seriously think the community needs a video based on the last comments here. Many of us are tinkerers yet with little to no arcade building experience... exactly why I started this thread and posed the question. Maybe a YT video will arise that is better phrased: "Who is jamma for?" I have always blindly 'wanted' jamma without cons...

USB vs Jamma versatility: In some scenarios, is Jamma even worth it??

Controllers, controllers, controllers... Having just converted a Hori RAP4 to real Sanwa and Seimitsu parts (and Sega Astro City artwork!!), I thought all that was left for the best stick was to update the internal board with a Brooks universal. In my mind, from there, I'd have maybe the best stick in terms of versatility on retro consoles and mode...

Domesday Duplicator, Merlin, Lasercon, Arthur, Dexter... as a LASERDISC GAMES possibility?

I'd love to see more people aware of the Domesday Duplicator project: https://github.com/simoninns/DomesdayDuplicator/wiki/Overview Thinking about having laserdisc games in an arcade cabinet build, I looked into what options exist beyond emulation like Daphne, when original hardware is expensive, players fail, disc rot, (insert other problems here)...
