So todays main mister update brought wallpapers tied to alternate ini files. Folder named wallpapers with images will now cycle when MiSTer.ini is active. folder named wallpapers_alt_1 with images in it will cycle when MiSTer_alt_1.ini is active. Same for *_alt_2 and *_alt_3 aswell. Remove menu.png from root after making these changes.

If you run the updater script (update.sh) it will download cheats for all the cores from gamehacking.org. It is also possible to download all cheats for a specific game from this site by checking the box for download all and selecting MiSTer as the device.
