Re: Old-school music production with MT-32pi and Cubase

Yes, it's version 3.01. I couldn't afford it back in the day. I had to make do with the cheapo Dr. T. sequencer and a Yamaha FB-01. People nowadays tend to forget how expensive gear was back then. Cubase.jpg Anyway, I'm off to play with my new copy of Ableton Live 12... :) D. Good to see a fellow musician/engineer;-) Yeah, spent a fortune on gear ...

Re: Old-school music production with MT-32pi and Cubase

Yes, it's version 3.01. I couldn't afford it back in the day. As an interesting fact, Mister is (AFAIK), the only place where you can use the original, uncracked (and not-crashing) Cubase 3.01, without a dongle, because it's emulated in the core! Thanks for reminding me of this. I have now "upgraded" to an uncracked copy of Cubase 3.1. D

Re: Old-school music production with MT-32pi and Cubase

Hi all, It worked. In Cubase, I can now play the MT-32pi with my keyboard, and record notes into Cubase, having connected the keyboard to the MiSTer with a Roland UM-1 MK-2. Audio is routed from the MiSTer into the Roland Studio Capture sound card. This is my setup. It will get even more interesting if I can sync the Midi and route the audio into ...

Re: Old-school music production with MT-32pi and Cubase

You are much better off using the MIDI in/out right off the digital shield (the USER I/O thin that looks like a USB port) Hi, thanks for answering. The user port is occupied by the MT-32pi, and functions as a MIDI out. All I want the MIDI In for is to connect my keyboard so that I can record notes into Cubase. If this is technically possible, I do...

But then you'd also need a USB to MIDI adapter for the mt32-pi.

Exactly. I think any setup would require one USB to MIDI adapter, and it seems much better to have the keyboard connected via USB than the MT-32pi.

Re: Old-school music production with MT-32pi and Cubase

Thanks. So, if I were to purchase a usb-midi Interface, like a Roland UM-1, would the ST core with Cubase be able to use it for input and the MT-32pi for output?

Old-school music production with MT-32pi and Cubase

Hi all, I just got an MT-32pi, and it is finally set up and working well. It was a bit of a process, thanks to a defective SD-Card, voltage-draining power switch, and some gain-staging issues. The MT-32pi is connected to my IO board via the user port, and I have the standard MiSTer MT-32pi hat. Anyway, I have it working with the ST core, and with C...

I seem to remember that you have to "install" it to get it to use the correct terminal definition. I don't have my Mister working at the moment, so I can't check it any more than that.

For the original cores from Grant Searles (not MISTer cores) UK101 http://searle.x10host.com/uk101FPGA/index.html Multicomp http://searle.x10host.com/Multicomp/index.html A lot of detailed information in these pages. As always, let me know if there are any issues.

Another update: It's fixed. I'll push a new version as soon as I've tested it properly.

Revisited this core to get familiar with it again but UART and Baud Rate settings don't appear to be working Hi, I ran the core today for the first time in a long time, and saw that you're right, some of the menu options are not working any more. This must be due to some change in the system. I checked earlier versions and they don't work either. ...

Hi Eedee,

I haven't touched the code for several months, so if it worked before, it probably still works now, unless something in the system has broken it.

What are you trying to do?

Re: Acorn Electron Core

Arcadians_E ran without incident. I am wondering whether the files I tried might actually be for the BBC Micro, which would be kind of embarrassing...

UPDATE: I redownloaded a confirmed Electron version of Paper Boy, and it behaves in exactly the same way.

Re: Acorn Electron Core

Hi, yes I did that. I tried two tapes; Paper Boy and Arcadians. Both seemed to load and then crashed at the last minute. Paper Boy crashes to a red screen with text garbage that looks like Basic and an "Invalid Program" error. Arcadians crashes to a black screen with a text cursor in the corner and assorted garbage.

Hi, I get the same result.

I know nothing at all about the Acorn Electron, but assuming it has some custom ROM to load the MMB file, could this be interfering with loading from cassette?

Hi all,

It's been a while...

I pushed a new version of the core with the new, updated framework, with shadow masks and updated video filters, so if you really miss peering at your UK101 or OSI Challenger on a blurry black and white television, you can now experience it again.

Re: X68000 Beta - Updates and Releases

I've been spending some quality time with this core yesterday and today. Back in the day, I wasn't even aware of the existence of this computer, and this is the first experience I have of using one.

Once I got it set up, everything I tried appears to work well.

Thanks very much to the developers for the work on getting this beast running!

Re: Compukit UK101 core

The Synmon in the C2P mode of the core is Syn600.

According to https://www.osiweb.org/software.html, "the C2/4 sections are identical to the SYNMON1 code".

I've never been able to get Synmon to work with the C1P, although I know it's possible.

Re: Compukit UK101 core

Hi, I made a version which defaults to high res, and this seems to work better. OSI Invaders and Pacdude both start off in high res and switch to low, and Defender switches to low before it starts. The emulator also defaults to high res, so that is what the release version will do. D. And UART is back! Thanks :-) Which is odd because I haven't cha...

Software controlled screen mode is now "official".

After adding this feature, I now realise that ALL of the C2P machine-code games put themselves in the correct resolution before running.
