Re: Game Glitches on MegaAGS
I didn't need to go very far down that TODO list to reach a conclusion. I based a test off the "AGS2.hdf" image mentioned in that Pezz video (a quite stock install that could load both Shadow of the Beast and SF2 without glitches), but copied over the current installs of said games. Et voilà, the same glitches as we get in MegaAGS are th...

Re: Game Glitches on MegaAGS
I'll try MegaAGS on my Real Amiga when I get a new CF Card
EDIT:
Lets get a list of all the glitchy games and test them on the old hard drive image.
So far its Shadow Dancer, Shadow of the beast,
Street fighter 2.
In the video it mentioned some games may not work so I'm not sure if all games were working fine there.

Re: Game Glitches on MegaAGS
It could be the way workbench is set up.
I noticed that the older image has a more typical workbench set up.
Possibly using classicwb https://classicwb.abime.net/
Where the latest MegaAGS workbench seems more customised when I press escape to get back to the Desktop

Re: Game Glitches on MegaAGS
An update I tested with an older image tutorial I found on Youtube to quickly set up Minimig in MiSTer I found that Street Fighter 2 is working perfectly in this image by someone called Pez https://youtu.be/VhUsCgTI0o0 EDIT: On the MegaAGS image I changed the chipset to ECS and that stopped megaAGS from starting up however it booted to the desktop....

Re: Game Glitches on MegaAGS
Have you tested the game to confirm it works without corruption on your setup? i do not like shadow dancer, but i tested it. yes i have glitches when jump. i tested the game in 68000 mode, ECS, 1Mb chip and 8MB fast ram (no slow ram) glitches gone away. Shadow dancer works but in my previous posts I was talking about Street Fighter two specificall...

Re: Game Glitches on MegaAGS
Might be something that has happened in recent updates Edit: I tried lowering the ram to 8mb last night and made no difference to the graphics corruption in that game sadly. Also I did try out Mortal Kombat 2 on the off chance and that also seems to have some issues with sound. I was playing through the Arcade mode and after some time the sound beg...

Re: Game Glitches on MegaAGS
The dcache is off I have tested both on and off and it made little difference.
I am hoping someone else could test the game I know the game is not good on the Amiga however it should be working correctly?

Re: Game Glitches on MegaAGS
I am having severe graphical corruption in Street Fighter II using Mega AGS but I am guessing it's in the Minimig core itself as I don't have this issue on Winuae or an original Amiga 1200

Re: Is it possible to map keyboard to controller?
I tried to MAP spacebar to Y button on an 8bitdo SN30Pro so that I could use the screen clearing bomb from the controller in "Turrican 2" but was unable to
The MegaAGS Whdload game already maps jump to a button rather than directional pad

Re: Is it possible to map keyboard to controller?
Will test this out on Arabian Nights you have 3 buttons that are troublesome.
Up is jump mapped to controller button
Menu is spacebar mapped to a controller button.
Lastly leave attack as a joystick same as normal mapping.
Will get on with this tonight and see how I get on thanks

Is it possible to map keyboard to controller?
I was wondering if its possible to map keyboard keys to the controller?
Many games use a combination of both keyboard and joystick in computer games.

How are people setting up their Minimig?
Hi I'm trying to use the MegaAGS file but they are much bigger than the file size allowed by my external hard drive formatted as fat32.
How are people getting around this?

Try changing PAL/NTSC, running it from floppy, or better yet, just play the far superior arcade version.

Re: Better support for SNAC?
You kinda proven my point of why I would prefer snac support because its a mine field buying a usb controller.
I bought my wired version in good faith but I am having serious problems with the wired version.
There's actually no point to using it with the problem that I have.

Re: Better support for SNAC?
8bitdo has very close controllers to the NES and SNES OG controllers, i would dare to say even better because you can buy a new one. Retro-Bit also has very close Genesis and Saturn Controllers as they use the OG molds to produce them. Retrobit Sega 8 button controllers are terrible in my experience and 8bitdo controllers have low print run. Also ...

All these direct connections have no benefits. It only wastes GPIOs and requires 30-years old gamepad.
Purists use original systems, not emulators, not FPGA.

Re: Better support for SNAC?
There are loads of old controllers around but low print runs of new controllers and they end up getting scalped.

Re: Better support for SNAC?
Currently snac is one player only but I believe it should be two player. I think people recommended just buy a low latency controller USB like the 8bitdo. However the issue is now that latency on modern controller's is not a priority the 8bitdo controllers are good but they seem to be having low print runs and starting to get scalped now So I beli...

Re: Better support for SNAC?
I am just proposing this solution because acquiring good low latency usb controllers is a problem. It isn't, though. If you buy / build Daemonbite adapters , you can use original controllers over USB with very little latency (avg 0.75ms). That's one of the lowest latency input methods there is. They're not particularly expensive to buy pre-built b...

Re: Better support for SNAC?
i understand the need for the lowest latency for controllers. specifically when referring to games for the atari, SHMUPs, arcade fighting games, NES titles, and super mario world ROM hacks. those particular systems and games benefit the most from having the lowest input lag as possible. that said, and after testing both USB controllers and SNAC wi...

Re: Better support for SNAC?
There is an open source / open hardware extension for SNAC here: https://github.com/MiSTer-DB9 It's backwards compatible. That's official cores with SNAC support works with the adapters (only one player and without OSD control). Of course that means also gun support. There are improvements on NES (on US controllers) and PCE (full support 6 button ...

Re: Better support for SNAC?
I feel like I am more sensitive to input latency than most and I still stand by using a USB controller. I have been singing the praises of the iBuffalo SNES USB controller for years. Was pumped to see it on the MisterAddons guy's latency tests as one of the best controllers. I use that particular controller for most things. 6 button fighters I use...

Re: Better support for SNAC?
That's protocol conversion. It performs polling of standard joypads only, and would not work for mouse/etc. special-protocol devices. In other words, it's the opposite of what SNAC is designed for (and may even require special versions of the cores). This is doing effectively the same job as daemonbite converters, except that: - it polls the origi...
