Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development
Hi. I'm fine. The Russian occupiers have turned off our Internet and mobile communications. There is a slow Internet connection, but this one is not always available. Twitter and Facebook are blocked, so I'm writing here. I'm working on Saturn and other cores. Maybe not so fast, but I continue to work. Thank you all for support. Stay strong brothe...

Looks great on my CRT now, hard to believe that this is not even an official release now!

Re: Anyone else getting funky results with black backgrounds on a consumer grade CRT?
OK, so the core itself is the issue, good to know, guess I'll wait for it to be fixed.FPGAzumSpass wrote: ↑Mon Jan 24, 2022 5:56 am The video timings are known to be off at least for NTSC, but probably also slightly for PAL.
So yes, this single core has issues.
You can work around with tweaks or wait until it's fixed.
Cheers

Re: Anyone else getting funky results with black backgrounds on a consumer grade CRT?
Everything works perfectly with the other cores I play: SNES/SFC, NES/Famicom, Genesis/Mega Drive, SEGA CD/Mega CD, PC-Engine/PC-Engine CD, GameBoy/GameBoy Color, GBA, GameGear/SMS, WonderSwan. Only PSX gives me this issue:

Anyone else getting funky results with black backgrounds on a consumer grade CRT?
Everytime there's a black background (Castlevania Chronicles for example), the picture is always moving in waves from up to down. 20" consumer grade CRT TV with YPbPr connection.

Is there some sort of technical difference between the Gray and Orange NES Zapper?
I have both of them and they both of them work on my NES, but only the gray one works with my SNAC adapter on my MiSTer.

Great, now nothing is loading, stuck in the BIOS. Anything major changed that I should be aware of (besides the fact that it allows me to load CUE files now)?

Re: I can't make the memory cards to work in the PS1 core.
What is it that does not work? There might be a few games that still do not work with memory cards for this core. Does it just not work overall? The core got renamed to PSX, which means if you are using a Playstation folder for games and the boot.rom the folder needs to be renamed to PSX instead. Not sure where your getting your PS1 core updates, ...

Re: Since there's a GameBoy SNAC Adapter, can I link MiSTer with a GameCube/Wii?
The current serial functionality is a quirk to get 2 cores connected with 1 of the 5 connection mode, either as dual-core (splitscreen, dual screen) or even via multiple MiSTer if someone wants to build that. It's not working with a real (active) GBA connection cable most likely. As I have no GBA, no Gamecube and no Wii and I doubt that many would...

Re: Since there's a GameBoy SNAC Adapter, can I link MiSTer with a GameCube/Wii?
The serial modes for the GBA core are not implemented as far as I know and there are multiple modes (5 I think?). This would be a pretty massive undertaking due to its complexity so I shouldn't expect it any time soon, if at all. You can try the GBA2P core for local single-MiSTer multiplayer, it's pretty awesome. So I've been told on Reddit. That ...

Re: So can we use the IO board's analog out or not?
The core must be rebuilt to use the pins for analog out. Basically just this line has to be removed: https://github.com/RobertPeip/PlayStation_MiSTer/blob/main/PlayStation.qsf#L54 Keep in mind that analog out isn't fully polished yet anyway, so if you really need it, it's best to wait some more weeks. Oh I see. The dual RAM option has been kept ev...

But I don't use a 2nd sdram module.mapf wrote: ↑Sat Nov 27, 2021 7:19 pm For ease of debugging, the current code supports both loading from sdcard as well as loading from the second sdram module. If the second sdram module support is enabled, analog output from the I/O board gets automatically disabled (they share the same pins after all).

Re: I get a black screen when booting the PS1 core
Well the problem seems to be the fact that I'm using a CRT. I tried it on my HDTV and it works... sort of. Most games lock-up after the title screen even with fast boot on and some games will freeze temporarily or permanently during game play.

I get a black screen when booting the PS1 core
Hey there, I updated the main MiSTer core and added the new PS1 core to my Micro SD card via FTP and I already had the BIOS file prepared. Thing is, I get a black screen when loading the PS1 core, can't load the menu and I need to power cycle. I've included some picks, can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Re: PlayStation MiSTer Core Repository Created
To test the PS1 core: - Have the RAM you regularly use in the first slot as usual - Add extra RAM to the second slot, with the side marked "facing outwards" facing outwards - Flip SW3 To run other cores: - Remove the secondary RAM you added for testing - Put SW3 back to its original position Still doesn't work. Re: PlayStation MiSTer Core Repository Created
How do you test that it works/don't works? Did you insert the right direction? (as the PCB states: this side faces outwards) All other cores don't make use of it. e.g. you can't use the gameboy core with sdram only in the "analog board slot" Overall, please don't start a hype for a second sdram. If I wouldn't have made the whole developm...

Re: PlayStation MiSTer Core Repository Created
Strange, I am unable to use both slots for RAM on my DE10-Nano. The slot that's used for the IO board doesn't work with RAM. I've tried my 32MB and 128MB in the other slot and they both work, but neither work on the slot where the IO board was setted. Anyone knows why?
