Re: Analog vga_scaler vertical screen rotation cuts off 1/3 of image (CRT TV)
I've bumped into same problem when trying to use the scaler to play vertical arcade on my pvm. Looks like the scaler is calculating the a 3:4 viewport correctly (240px vertical / 180px horizontal) but it doesn't do any horizontal downscaling. That particular game in TATE mode has a horizontal resolution of 224px resulting in 224px - 180px = 44px ou...

Re: Modeline creation for NeoGeo on a trinitron-style CRT screen
@Pepart: First try decreasing the hfp, hbp values, this will give you a bigger horizontal visible area: video_mode=320,21,29,34,224,13,14,13,6400 Then push the image to the left / right to re-center it by incrementing / decrementing hfp, hbp values: video_mode=320,15,29,40,224,13,14,13,6400 It's hard for me to come up with the best values for your ...

Re: Modeline creation for NeoGeo on a trinitron-style CRT screen
This is what I use and I get a centred image with little to no overscan. [NEOGEO] video_mode=320,21,29,44,224,13,14,13,6400 vga_scaler=1 vsync_adjust=2 I play NES a lot and the video_mode is customized so it matches the default NES output in terms of H/V centring, but if the image is not centred on your screen you can try playing with this paramete...

Re: Select default core with hardware switch?
It's possible but it will require some work that might not be easy depending on your skills, this is how I would do it: Get a rotary switch and connect it to a Arduino. Read the input there and write it on Serial/USB port so you can read it from Mister. On Mister, make a bash script or small app that continuously reads Arduino serial port and when ...

Re: NES via VGA Scaler on CRT (Composite Blend)
@FoxbatStargazer: Thanks for the link, it was very useful. I managed to find a video mode that fits exactly the NES output and has proper integer scaling. For those interested in getting a composite blend effect for the NES core, you can add this to your Mister.ini [NES] video_mode=560,24,48,56,240,3,10,6,10250 vga_scaler=1 Then make sure you use t...

NES via VGA Scaler on CRT (Composite Blend)
I like the sharp image produced by my PVM but sometimes I feel like playing the games, the way I remember them in from childhood, with a bit of blending. The Composite Blend scale filters are doing a great job creating the picture that I'm after, but for them to work on my CRT I need to force vga_scaler=1 and set a video_mode . I can't find a video...

Re: Apple A2M6014 Monitor
Have one more issue, not sure how to fix this one. See picture, screen looks slanted. I can't adjust from monitor or it goes to hell. Is there a custom setting to use for this monitor? It's playable but would like to have even. No settings from core fixes it either. Thanks Don't know if is the cause of your issue but it looks like you have a stron...

Make sure you haven't changed the SW10 dip switches by mistake, compare them to one from this image:

Re: I think my DE10 is fried
New DE10 board arrived today and it works flawlessly with my existing SD card and daughterboards. Anyone know off Terrasic offers a warranty on bad DE10s? I got my DE10 from Mouser and had a similar problem, my HDMI output failed for no actual reason. I contacted both Mouser and Terasic. Terasic offered me the option to mail them the board for ins...

Re: HDMI Failure
Getting back in case somebody bumps into same problem and finds out this post. After more looking around it I finaly detected a short between HDMI PIN3 (TMDS Data2 -) and Ground. That explains the messed up image as TMDS Data2 sends red channel data to the display. No idea what could have caused it, as there are no visible bridges on the circuit bo...

HDMI Failure
I have the DE10-Nano since March and use it mainly on a PVM. A couple of days ago I tried to play a game on my TV but I’ve notice that the HDMI was not displaying anything. After a long time tweaking the config I manage to get something to display but all the colors have a red tint and the image has strange artefacts. I could only get this image on...
