Re: Apple II Core
What are the keyboard keys to do the special Apple II keys such as Reset, Open Apple and Closed Apple? For example, I want to break out of the boot screen and drop to a prompt so I can type a Basic program and I have no idea how to do it. I don't want to load a disk first. Thanks!

Re: NES core colour changes in v201102
I just made a new custom mode and here is how I did it (I didn't end up using it though): Go Here: https://www.epanorama.net/faq/vga2rgb/calc.html You want the Horizontal Sync Frequency to be as close to 15.73 KHz as possible and the vertical sync to be as close to 59.94 Hz as possible when you click the Calculate button. They don't have to be exac...

Re: NES core colour changes in v201102
FYI - I got the ao486 core working really good with these settings. They allow the refresh rate to be set to Variable in the ao486 core which is preferred so Second Reality works all the way through. I just added this to the bottom of my mister.ini so it only activates this for the ao486 core and everything else uses direct_video=1. [ao486] ; Set i...

Re: Second Reality Demo
Just an update. I solved this issue completely. I can now turn on Variable in the ao486 core on my CRT TV once I set a vscale_mode other than 0, and setting vsync_adjust to 1 to eliminate the dropouts when it changes resolutions. Here are my settings: [ao486] ; Set it to "Variable" in the ao486 core instead of 60Hz direct_video=0 vga_scal...

Re: NES core colour changes in v201102
I looked for that Moread adapter on amazon.ca and it is available to import. Did you open it to verify that it has the same AG6200 chip? If it is then I'll order one for peace of mind. It definitely is. I didn't open it, but I found it from a youtube video talking about it with the MiSTer. It worked perfectly with my VGA CRT monitor with the MiSTe...

Re: New distribution system for Jotego cores
I think this is a great idea and will probably lead to more patreon supporters for Jotego. I don't have the time to see what betas are out there so I don't even know what I am missing, but having them available with the update_all might make me want access to a beta core that I would otherwise not know about.
I like bazza_12's idea as well.

Re: NES core colour changes in v201102
Are you sure it is cracked? When I look at your photo, to me it looks like a black line on top of the chip. Here is my HDMI to VGA adapter and most likely it would work just as well but I don't want to mod it because I use it the way it is sometimes: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MS611LJ I was thinking there is probably a way to make an adap...

Re: NES core colour changes in v201102
If the HDMI to VGA cable is working for you, then everything I posted above should apply to that solution. You could try those video timings (that have 240 for the vertical resolution) and they might work for you. You should be able to just use that and do everything you want to do. If the HDMI to VGA is working for you, what more are you looking t...

Re: NES core colour changes in v201102
I would return the component converter and say it doesn't work. When you use the HDMI to VGA cable with the SOG mod, does the Genesis core have the flashing issue? Regarding the 1440x1080 timings and 480i, I am using an external HDMI to SVideo converter that converts everything to 480i. The MiSTer unfortunately does not support outputting 480i, but...

Re: Direct Video HDMI to Component CRT 480i TV
Will do. Currently when I play the Second Reality demo in ao486 it has these behaviors: - Using direct video=1 (it actually works?! and doesn't always look perfect but sometimes does) there are no pauses. - Using direct video=0 and the MiSTer scaler with the JTech component converter, there are brief pauses that kill the video and sound while it sy...

Re: NES core colour changes in v201102
There is a little switch on the component converter. Make sure it is set to the component position. Use RCA cables with the converter, not the VGA cable. Here are my ini settings that work with direct_video=1: direct_video=1 forced_scandoubler=0 hdmi_limited=1 vsync_adjust=2 ypbpr=0 composite_sync=0 vga_scaler=0 video_mode=640,30,60,70,240,4,4,14,1...

Re: NES core colour changes in v201102
Thanks! I tried without the SOG mod and as expected it would not lock onto the signal. I am going to just leave it as is for now since I am going to be using other things besides the MiSTer with the TV and will need the HDMI to component converter to make those things work anyway. I bought a Wii to HDMI cable that doesn't have a scaler in it so it ...

Re: Possible to emulate 15 kHz display on 31 kHz (480p) by using scanlines?
Agreed. TV's are made for viewing across the room. Monitors sit in front of your face and are not as bright. Also CRT TV's tend to bloom much more than monitors which black scanlines alone won't replicate. With that being said, I like the idea of having a scan doubler option with black lines instead of duplicated lines.

Here is a simple solution. Buy one of these: https://www.raphnet-tech.com/products/d ... /index.php
They are touted as making some of the best USB adapters, so it should work and have almost zero lag.

Re: Direct Video HDMI to Component CRT 480i TV
The J Tech's are no longer available and don't seem to be coming back. However, I found this: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32857847060.html Taking one for the team as a contribution to the MiSTer community (since I don't really need this), I am purchasing one to see if it works on my CRT TV and will report back when I get it. It says it should a...

Re: NES core colour changes in v201102
I have three of those converters. One works perfectly. One works mostly. One doesn't work at all. I can't remember what the difference is with the one that works mostly, but I think it had trouble with some edge case timings that would work with the "perfect" converter. I think they have gone through several revisions over the years and i...

Re: Dreamcast controllers into USB convertor
If it works in Windows, it should work fine. Edit: It's possible it won't work because I had an SNES USB adapter that didn't work. However, I would think that 95% of the time it would work fine.

Re: Two arcade joysticks on one control panel
Thank you for the helpful feedback. Here are some things I have figured out / verified: From further experimentation, once you map a joystick, if you try to map a second one with alternate buttons, it won't let you if the two joysticks are recognized as the same type. In other words, trying to play Super Smash TV on the SNES with two identical arca...

Re: Two arcade joysticks on one control panel
Anyone? I am assuming the answer is "each core is made by different people, and it is up to them if they want to support two player games on one joystick", or "the main core needs to be updated to support mapping for more than one player, and allow different player controls to be assigned to the same joystick device that was used on ...

Re: Daptor-2600 D9 with 2600 Paddles? [Solved]
I have a SNAC enabled Atari 2600 core and it works perfectly with paddles. You need the Atari SNAC adapter and an ADC input to get it to work. I'm confused… what would the ADC input plug into? There is an headphone jack on the Atari SNAC adapter. There is also a switch on it that needs to be in the Paddles position. There is also a requirement for...

It might the wifi channel your router is using. You could try changing the channel and see if the problem goes away. Also, see if there is a firmware update for your router.

You could certainly make your own, but be aware that the components are tiny and surface mount. If you aren't experienced with surface-mount soldering, I wouldn't try it. Plus, you will need the connectors for NES, etc.ascopolis wrote: ↑Thu May 27, 2021 4:14 pm Does anyone know if I can print the boards on https://jlcpcb.com/ or so?
