Re: Analogue IO board v6.0 with missing User port pins

I've seen somewhere that the IO board needs an additional mod but so far have been unable to locate details for that. As you realised the v6.0 IO board will not work with the SEGA controller adapter, here is some information on the modification. Hope it helps. https://www.reddit.com/r/MiSTerProject/comments/gmxwu3/modding_older_io_boards_for_use_w...

Re: MiSTerFPGA.co.uk

The last batch of mt32-pi HATs sold out again, this time it was in six hours :o

Thanks for all the orders! I will have another batch in production shortly as I have enough parts to build another 90 mt32-pi's.

So then I assume it is safe to use switches, for example, sold by misterfpga.co.uk. I assumed I was unlucky. Looks more of a thing than I realised. It's certainly not normal behavior for the inline switches I supply, I suspect your switch was faulty, if you drop me a message via the contact form on my website with your order number I will have a r...

Re: MiSTerFPGA.co.uk

I have now received a fair few emails asking for some advance notification on when the next batch of mt32-pi HATs will be on sale, as they sold out so quickly last time. This next batch consists of 30 units of each OLED colour screen version (white, blue, yellow). mt32-pi orders will be open on Sunday 21/03/2021 @ 2.00pm GMT Buy an mt32-pi misterfp...

Re: MiSTerFPGA.co.uk

Hi Nat. Do you have any update about availability of those cables? Currently with good old Parcel Force, at least they are in the UK now. I expect delivery anytime now. Due to many requests from my South Korean and German customers I have added the Helios Yellow case, It is a perfect match for the yellow OLED mt32-pi HATs :) It's crazy the amount ...

Yes that is correct, the Atari adapter also requires an ADC input and a 3.5mm AUX cable if you wish to use the Atari paddle controller. However the Atari joystick controller does not require any additional hardware to function.

Hey Nat, did you sell all of them in one go ? Pretty much, I had 60 built and completed and they sold out in about 24 hours from being placed live onto the store. I just tried to buy one, and it says it's only available on back order. If you have a quick read of my delivery page I give an explanation on what I mean when an item is set on 'backorde...

Re: MiSTerFPGA.co.uk

Any rough ETA on ready-to-go MT-32Pi hats/cables for purchase? A month isn't too soon to ask since the question was last raised, I hope :). Happy to provide an update, basically my shipment of male to male USB 3.0 cables are inside a shipping container slowly travelling via sea to me in the UK. I should have finished the first batch of complete mt32-Pi hats this week, I will post here as soon as they are live on the webiste.

In the meantime I had a number of requests to make the PCB's available so added them for those who wanted to make their own mt32-Pi for MiSTer Pi hat PCB

I think your fan is possibly faulty as the Noctua NF-A4x10 5V should work perfectly using the 3.3 volt jumper selection, albeit at a lower rpm.

NAT very kindly helped me diagnoses the issue and even sent me out an extra 128MB SD RAM module so I could confirm the board was at fault. Excellent news that you are up and running, an...

Re: 128MB SDRAM w/ AS4C32M16SB-7TCN

The AS4C32M16SB-7TCN modules work without issues. A few tips firstly double check your soldering for each chips pin leg with magnifying glass / microscope. If its passing memtest but not in cores also check soldering on the inverter. If your soldering is good make sure the module has had a good clean to remove any flux residue. Secondly are you sur...

If I solder wick the pins and then use hot air will the chips then be clean enough to lay flat on a new pcb ? Yes they should be, my suggestion is use a large nozzle and get even heat over the chip, remove each chip individually, the PCB being 4 layers does soak up a fair bit of heat. While heating keep gently nudging the chip with metal tweezers ...

The silkscreen came off a bit in the corner after messing too much with a bridge there. I measured that even though the bridge seems to be removed there is a short between the last 3 legs of the chip. Looking at the two images, I suspect this is the issue. In my opinion your best bet is use a hot air rework station and salvage the two SDRAM chips,...

Re: 128MB SDRAM Troubleshoot

If you can include some images of the memory module you have made it will be easier to help with trouble shooting the problem, however if you have created a permanent bridge by removing the solder mask, it might not easily be fixable.
