Re: SSH and FTP stopped working
I'll mess around with it more this weekend because I really need ssh. But I can always move to the other network temporarily. Any computer on the IoT network can ssh to each others except the MiSTer and old linux laptop (small 13" 'couch' laptop) and you can communicate between the two networks but I have that turned off because it slight defe...

SSH and FTP stopped working
A couple days ago my old laptop (running linux) couldn't SSH or FTP to the MiSTer (I'm new to MiSTer but its been working fine the last couple weeks) FTP; "ETHOSTUNREACH - No route to host." SSH same thing; "No route to host." Can't ping the MiSTer from the laptop and the MiSTer can't ping the laptop Things I've tried; FTP and S...

Re: Neo Geo Pocket
Honestly, a MiSTer portable would be physically huge and rather pointless, not to mention issues with heat dissipation. There's about zero chance of any homebrew project like MiSTer (running mostly off-the-shelf hardware) being a useful portable device. This is a Clockwork Gameshell shell (had the models), for reference its about the size of a DS ...

Re: USB or wireless keyboard and which one?
Are you using a hub? Is it 2.0 or 3.0? The blue 3.0 ports (even operating in legacy 2.0) will put out interference casuing weird behavior with anything wireless. You could build a keyboard that has the layout and look you prefer. I prefer 60% or 65% keyboards with real arrow keys. Found an 3d printable 'C64 to cherry mx adapter' (you might be able ...

Re: The MSTR Case
Thanks! I was down the 'rabbit hole' yesterday and today working on my MiSTer.
This iteration looks nice, thanks for posting an update
How are you making these? Machining? 3d print? Resin mold?

Re: The MSTR Case
Interesting, I had the same idea for building a 'PCS' system for my case based on DaemonBite. Started watching videos on KiCAD, should be a fun first pcb project. Neat lid opening concept. Noticed the lid has/had some interference in the animation (maybe an older video, saw a notch in one of the other pictures) When designing kinematics it's best t...

Re: "Load" games from a 3.5 floppy diskette
Well that's unfortunate, I know its the cores request which rom to load, but that seems weird to me (suppose it makes sense for the computer cores?) Found some talk about 'Loading core/rom form the command line', https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?p=3384 https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/issues/190#issuecomment-612410931 A couple more w...

Why are save files created based on the rom name?

Re: "Load" games from a 3.5 floppy diskette
Found another person asking about loading a game using the command line in MiSTer https://www.reddit.com/r/fpgagaming/comments/f9l3px/launching_game_from_command_line_in_mister/ Based on their github it looks like they are renaming the rom to 'boot' like I thought and loading the .rbf for the core https://github.com/mrchrisster/mister-screensaver f...

"Load" games from a 3.5 floppy diskette
Had a stupid idea to "Load" games using 3.5 floppies... Thought it would be fun for both myself and my nephews, who are growing up without physical media. I found this blog post which does what I want. Only instead of loading a url it would be loading a core and specific rom. https://www.dinofizzotti.com/blog/2020-02-05-diskplayer-using-3...

I've seen Sorgelig has MiSTer-kun as his avatar but noticed it other places and didn't know if that was official.

MiSTer Mascot Cat?
Who is the little grumpy cat Disk-kun? Is that the official MiSTer mascot?
