Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?

I tried using the built-in MUNT, and like jrronimo said, it worked sort of fine, but some notes hang, resulting in a messy soundtrack. After looking around some more, I was able to get the SC-55.sf2 file working on the built-in Fluidsynth, and it sounds pretty good so far, and consistent, no hanging notes, like in MUNT.

Re: Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?

OK, this might be able to help me out. Hmm, I’ll need to figure out how to install these. Also, Fatboy sounds interesting for a MIDI improvement.

Emulation available for Roland MT-32 or other more advanced sound cards?

I’ve really been liking the ao486 core for using DOS, but I’m curious if there are options for upgrading the sound card. It seems like the core emulates Adlib and Sound Blaster, but nothing else. While I’m just glad this core can run DOS games well, does anyone know if there’s sound card emulation you can use for the core for the Roland MT-32 or an...

Re: My version of DOS is "Incompatible with this version of Windows?"

Never mind, figured it out. I just had to change the directory to my C Drive, go to the moon directory, and then type in tex3.

Re: My version of DOS is "Incompatible with this version of Windows?"

I started it with tex3 instead and it worked!! One more thing. I played a bit of the game and saved it, but upon restarting the core and typing in tex3 it says it needs to be installed. Is there a specific way I’m supposed to start the game after I’ve installed it already?

My version of DOS is "Incompatible with this version of Windows?"

I wanted to check out CD games for DOS on the ao486 core. So, I installed a game I wanted to play, Under A Killing Moon. It said it installed properly, and told me to just type "moon," and then Enter for the game to start. However, instead of the game starting, I was greeted with a confusing message that said, "You started you comput...

Re: Re: MSX Core: How to swap disks? (SOLVED!!! I posted a guide in the comments.)

No problem. I'm glad I could add to this. Thanks for sending me the link, there isn't much info out there on the MSX core, and it seems that's one of the only places on the internet that shows you how to swap disks.

Re: MSX Core: How to swap disks?

Figured it out!! OK, I'm gonna explain this to everyone, because I had no idea what I was doing and had to do a bunch of guesswork and fiddling around, since the instructions I found weren't that clear and were a bit misleading. Here's a proper guide, so you all don't have to suffer like I did trying to get this to work. And yes, it's perfectly com...

Well, I think I created the necessary .BAT, but I have no idea where to put EP.COM.

OK, that makes sense. Still am not sure how to create the .BAT file he made, though. Hmm, I'll see if I can figure it out.

Re: MSX Core: How to swap disks?

Interesting, I'm a bit confused as to what he did, but I found a copy of EP.COM. I'll have to learn more how to use it. Doesn't look like something I can use with Sofarun, I'll probably have to use the file manager.

MSX Core : How to swap disks? [Solved]

I've set up my MSX core and it works great with the newest Sofarun, but I can't for the life of me to figure out how to swap disks. I'm trying to play New Devil Golvellius, which, to save, asks you to swap to the data disk. However, I don't see any options in the menu for swapping disks, like in the Famicom Disk System in the NES core. I know a lot...

Re: MSX Core: How to copy files to VHD?

Never mind, I got it working! I’ll keep this topic up so anyone who might need help in the future can see it. You just download and install ImDisk Toolkit, mount the VHD, make your changes you need, and unmount it. That simple! The newest version of Sofarun is working, and the new games I added worked just as they should.

MSX Core How to copy files to VHD? [Solved]

Hi, I'm a novice to VHD's and information about creating one for the MSX core is scarce. I know you need to use a program called sdcreate, but I can't figure out how to get the program to work. I have a pre-made VHD I found, but it has an outdated version of Sofarun, so I would like to put the updated files in there, and there are some games I woul...

Re: MiSTer Doesn't Recognize SD Card I Want to Use

Update: After multiple times trying to use the SD card program, and it giving me the "unable to install on disk 3" error, I read that the program is kinda finicky and it's generally more reliable to install via the Mister Fusion route. Did Mister Fusion and it worked! Now, my 64GB SDXC card is completely readable on the DE10-nano.

Re: MiSTer Doesn't Recognize SD Card I Want to Use

Yeah, I’ve used it for other purposes before. It was FAT32, so I needed to change it to exFAT because there’s an 8GB file I want to put on there. I tried following the instructions, but after I extracted the folder from the .rar file onto the SD card, the program gave me some sort of incorrect package message, so I must have done something wrong. I...

MiSTer Doesn't Recognize SD Card I Want to Use

Hi, I've had my Mister for a day or so and it's great. However, the Micro SD card I currently use is 16GB (SDHC) and I wanted more space, so I found a 64GB SDXC card I had and formatted it to exFAT. I transferred all the files to the SDXC card and inserted it in the Mister, but the Mister program didn't start. I tried my 16GB SDHC card and it still...

Advice for Setting Up DOS Games

Hi, I recently successfully installed DOS 6.2 on my Mister ao486 core, but don't know where to go from here. I found a few .vhd DOS game compilations on Archive.org and have been able to mount them, but I can't figure out how to bring up the games. The GitHub page only explains how to set up the core, as well. Information on this core seems scarce ...

Re: Can't bring up the OSD in the ao486 core?

I can't find much info for guides to using this core, but all the boot screens I found look slightly different than the one that I experienced. My boot screen didn't show the revision number and only showed "Booting from Hard Disk," there is no "Booting from Floppy" message that appears. Also, the "options: eltorito" i...

Re: Can't bring up the OSD in the ao486 core?

I've checked and it seems I have all the files I need, according to the guides I read/watched. I tried with another keyboard, with the same results, so I ruled out it being an issue with this keyboard, specifically. Here is a picture of what the boot screen looks like when I start the ao486 core, and a couple screenshots of what files I have on my ...

Can't bring up the OSD in the ao486 core?

Hi, I'm brand new to the Mister, I just got my De10-nano today and set it up. Really liking it so far. I have been able to get cores to work and have mapped actions to my controller. However, upon starting the ao486 core, I could not get the on screen display to show up. Neither my controller nor my keyboard work. I know I am supposed to press the ...
