Toggling black screen when launching Scramble arcade core
I tried to play Konami's old STG Scramble earlier today, but upon launching, the screen toggles on/off a few times, and then largely remains black. This is odd b/c I have been using my Mister for 2ish years, and have never encountered a screen issue like this before. Could a faulty .mra setting or something be the culprit? I've pasted the contents ...

@Paulbnl,
Does your GB release from Nov 8 officially fix this issue (ie which you addressed in the beta)?
Thanks,

Just to close this out, the problem I described in my prior post was the result of user error, see here:

Paulbnl,
That fixed it, thank you so much for chiming in. Any idea when your beta will be officially rolled into the GB/GBC core?
Thanks!

Gameboy/Gameboy Color palettes do not work for me anymore
Hello, For some reason, I am no longer able to apply custom palettes when running the Gameboy Color core. What I noticed is that, some point after updating to the newest Gameboy core (Gameboy_20210930.rbf), switching palettes didn't seem to have any effect anymore. In the past, I had no problem applying custom palettes. That being said, I have test...

Re: Super Mario Land 2 Sprite corruption
Stupid Dufus,
Replacing the .rbf in this manner seems to work. Thank you!
However, and this may be unrelated, are you still able to apply custom palettes? At some point after updating to the newest Gameboy core (Gameboy_20210930.rbf), switching palettes doesn't seem to have any effect...

Re: Super Mario Land 2 Sprite corruption.
Hi there,
While we wait for the above fix to be officially released/rolled out, can somebody please tell me how to "apply" the above .rbf as my new gameboy core? Also, if I do this, will a newer gameboy rbf automatically overwrite it if I do an update_all?
Thanks much

I'm seeing very similar issues with "Wario Land - Super mario land 3"; is the root cause (and fix) the same?

Re: MiSTer Downloader Tool
Yes, update_all is now using the Downloader by default (except for users that have custom update.ini files). If you see the word "Downloader" at the start of the console output when it shows the sequence, it is using it, but you can always deactivate it from the Misc menu. The README.md has always been there with the same content since o...

Re: NES Core Setup Guide and Review
Thanks vgesoterica,
This is a great little vid, and the mister NES core can really stand toe-to-toe with any of the "dedicated" NES FPGA consoles (ie retroAVS, Analogue NT, etc). Also, the moon theme is one of my favorites as well

Re: Some Games not Running
Aberu,
Will running update_all (which i assume includes BIOS-getter) automatically d/l the V3.01 bios, once that team makes the change? I'm just wondering whether I have to self-provision on that bios, or whether it will be eventually be "pushed" to all via the update-all mechanism.
Thanks so much,

Re: Sonic 2 consistent screen size with integer scale for 240p
Thanks again for taking the time to check my ini and post a response! I appreciate it Yim.
Setting vsync_adjust = 0 and 1 didn't have any discernible effect. As Zakk mentioned, the temporary screen blink/black screen will just have to be lived with (at least with my current monitor).

Thanks zakk4223; I am using US mode with border=off. I guess the screen blink/black screen just has to be lived with!!

Re: Sonic 2 consistent screen size with integer scale for 240p
Yim, Thank you very much for the quick response and details. I applied all of the settings you mentioned (the top 2 were already present in my ini; the second two allow me to toggle into custom ARs), however both of the custom ARs still result in the same behavior (ie Sonic 2 toggles to black / resizes whenever the 2-player mode comes on during the...

Re: Sonic 2 consistent screen size with integer scale for 240p
Yim, Thanks for the quick reply. I am a total dunce when it comes to playing with the video settings of my mister. Would you be able to suggest a line or two in my mister.ini that would help resolve this (ie make Sonic 2 playable without the video toggling to black / resizing whenever the 2-player mode comes on)? I attached my .ini (as a 7z). It is...

Re: Some SPCs Play and Some Don’t
Well, both of the referenced files are part of the same curated set, so not quite sure what to look for. Do you know of any low-level attributes that .spc files need in order to be compatible with this player? And if so, do you know how I could check that they have them?
Thx

Some SPCs Play and Some Don’t
Greetings, First off, thank you so much for recently adding SPC support to the SNES core! This is a really cool feature. I have noticed that some SPCs will play, and others don't. I am using the newest SNES core (Release 20201106), and while some SPCs will play (after some screen resolution changing on my PC monitor), others do not, resulting in no...

Re: Input issues in Final Fight Anniversary Edition hack
Hey TLPD-AVW,
I just joined the forums so that I could help you! I had the exact same issue, and somebody on Discord gave me a custom .mra file which fixed the diagonal controller issues. If you PM me, I should be able to share that file with you.
Happy gaming!
