It gets power from a cable I received with the pi. Do you have any recommendations for either pi or mister for suffient power. Because i either power it with pi ,with hat turned off or power with mister through the user port wirh hat turned on.

The logo doesn't show, even with the pi turned on and the mt32 pi hat turrned on or off, without being connected to the mister.legacypixels wrote: ↑Mon May 16, 2022 11:54 pm
Unplug the Pi from the MiSTer, power up the Pi with the Pi power supply (NOT connected to the MiSTer).
Does the MT32Pi logo show?

Is your USB3 cable a known working recommended cable? The mt32-pi wiki has a list. https://github.com/dwhinham/mt32-pi/wiki/MiSTer-FPGA%3A-Tested-USB-cables Good call... I am not seeing the cable listed. It is blue 31 cm from usb tip to tip with markings USB3.0 Cable STYLE 20276 80°C 30V VW-1 I will get one from the compatible list your refered an...

Re: MT32pi not turning on or detected by MiSTer
These are my boards, I took the pics of. So, what you are saying is the analog i/o board needs a jumper and pins, and the digital i/o needs a jumper? because the digital has pins Looking at the pictures of both your IO boards, the pin headers are correctly populated. You are not missing any required pins or jumper caps on either IO board. Are you ...

Also, no sound when i choose mt32 from the setup of the game. So, i am not sure why it is not working. I followed the setup. Step by step. Please advise. Any ideas? Thanks As you did not post an image of your mister, without a case. For the analog mister you need a jumper next to the use port. But for both analog and digital, the pins along the ra...

Re: Game/ROM List for all Cores
I'm scratching my head trying to figure out why would you want to start this gigantic undertaking, when it mostly has all been done already? If you really need to have your own datatbase, better way to build it imo would be to figure out a way to import data from various existing sources mentioned in this thread. It wouldn't be trivial, but at lea...

Re: Game/ROM List for all Cores
It's an analogy to this --> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ID3 Basically ID3 is a metadata embedded into MP3's that contain information about the publisher, album title, title of the song, track number, etc... tons of different categories of information. I see the database you are making as an equivalent to this, so it's fine to have a bunch of cat...

Re: Game/ROM List for all Cores
Sure there different cart releases, but there not always that many rom versions Sometimes the US, Pal and Japanese games is the exact same rom. Hence why some roms have multiple regions in it's rom name. 10 Yard fight for example might have 5 to 7 different versions of the cart but there rom is the same for each. Early NES games are also have some...

Re: Game/ROM List for all Cores
treat it like a community sourced thing, like MP3 tags in databases already. Creating the framework and getting a database setup or maybe just a github page where people can contribute is a good first step. All of the games don't need all of the metadata perfectly filled in right off the bat. Aberu, can you please explain what you mean by communit...

Re: Game/ROM List for all Cores
Your best place to start is a Raspberry Pi, or PC front-end, gamelist.xml files. These contain, (for example, this is Atari 2600 3-D Tic-Tac-Toe) <game id="14001" source="ScreenScraper"> <path>./3-D Tic-Tac-Toe.zip</path> <name>3-D TIC-TAC-TOE</name> <desc>THE GAME IS SIMILAR TO THE TRADITIONAL GAME OF TIC-TAC-TO.</desc> <image...

Re: Game/ROM List for all Cores
That list is way, way too long, most of it is not needed. Plus, you are never going to get ALL that info, for ALL games, it's just too big of a task. And going on from what Akeley said, there are tens of thousands of games for just a few systems, like the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, C64, BBC Micro, etc... Most of those games won't come with the info...

Re: Game/ROM List for all Cores
Thank you for reminding me of dat files, they have some good info. I am mostly mixing information from different sources (websites) to encounter the meta data needed for good identification of the games. Here are some examples of websites I am using: MobyGames, LaunchBox, Video Games Museum, and The Games DB. However, like I said I am encounter man...

Game/ROM List for all Cores
I am in development of the ultimate game/rom list-database for all cores currently on the MiSTer. This list includes meta-data for each title. I am not looking to create a frontend for the MiSTer, but a way to have a paper and/or electronic copy of all games and notes regarding their settings and setup. I know the meta data is spread around to mult...

Re: NES ROMs File Names NTSC vs PAL
Thank you mic_! That makes more sense, as I am trying to review my collection. Do you know if there is a way to look at rom and determine the correct speed it was intended to play at without looking at how it was named? I am trying to organize my collection in a way that reflects the setting in the core for example games/NES/NES/NTSC/USA/0-9, A TO ...

So, if the roms are no different, then did the PAL Nintendo slow the game down because of 50fps?

Re: NES ROMs File Names NTSC vs PAL
This is my guess too. That it may be possible that even if the cart (outside shell is different meaning serial #, graphic, labeling etc) the rom inside is exactly the same as the NTSC title.

NES ROMs File Names NTSC vs PAL
I have a question regarding how NES ROMs file names are determined, and then how do we interpret them as it relates to which ROMs were sold in which regions or playing on NTSC, PAL etc. I have a few roms that have multiple regions listed in the file name of the ROM. For example: 10-Yard Fight (USA, Europe) 1942 (Japan, USA) just to name a few, ther...

SG-1000 roms don't have a region issue, but do they distinguish between NTSC & PAL. even though most were released in Japan?
