Re: Taito Egret II Mini Rollerball/Spinner Controller

Yes, they do, all of them (including the three little ones). A common mistake when initializing the controller setup in the menu, is using a different controller or the keyboard to define buttons. Once you go in the setup screen, just push one of the Taito mini buttons to let MiSTer know of the vid:pid id of the particular controller; then erase it...

Re: Taito Egret II Mini Rollerball/Spinner Controller

So, I received mine today. The situation regarding MiSTer use, is exactly as flynnsbit describes; everything's working as it should except for the spinner. As far as quality goes, it's surprisingly pleasant; the trackball has a heft to it despite its small size and fits my hand nicely. I was worried the whole thing would feel plastic-y and toy-ish,...

Re: blackwine's Sega System 2 implementations

There is a little trick to avoid that: rename the unofficial rbf and edit the mras pointing to the new core name. Even you can create a new folder and drop the Blackwine´s specific mras into it. ...or just create an exception in your downloader.ini : [mister] filter = !arcade-segasys1 This way, the update script will ignore the specific core and ....

Re: Is My New BlisSTer Board Faulty?

Hello and welcome! The BlisSTer is not an officially supported peripheral; however you may want to join the Bliss-box discord server , in which you can find the CLI tool permitting you to properly configure P1 and P2 ports. You apparently also want to flash your board to the newest firmware. Ricardo (ultimatemister.com) has the needed script includ...

Re: Taito Egret II Mini Rollerball/Spinner Controller

I've just ordered this, in hope our wizards can make it work properly 🤞 Thing is, there's no such combined trackball + spinner * paddle controller anywhere, and making one from scratch would add up to waaay more costs; buying an Ultimarc spinner, trackball, compatible I-PAC and wiring, not to mention sourcing or making a nice case for those, would ...

Re: MiSTer CRT Guide - WIP

Great stuff from both of you akeley & Foxbat . This guide-in-making, guarantees that there will not be any questions lingering. A reason I first got my MiSTer, was that it advertised to be easily connected to a CRT. In reality, I went scuffing bits off from the internets to make my rigs work (which finally didn't, at least to a satisfactory deg...

Yes, you're missing the names_txt file. Make sure that it gets downloaded by checking your update_all .ini settings.

Re: Possible BBC Micro core graphics issue

Hello fellow Beeb aficionado!

You may want to try this unofficial build, until things get sorted out and it finds its way into the main repository:
BBCMicro_20220123.rbf
(3.61 MiB) Downloaded 186 times
Mind you, this build implements the capability of loading individual disk image files (instead of .MMB), but I'm not sure which DFS standard @alanswx has followed.

Re: Those dark lines on a CRT television aren't "scanlines"

IMO much more beneficial would be trying to explain that the heavily exaggerated "thicc scanlines" look is a modern invention since back then nobody had PVMs nor wanted a "window blind" effect in their image. This ☝️ Best "scanlines" (or "darklines"), are the ones you don't notice! I've gathered a little col...

The core doesn't like Gamma filters for some reason :)

Edit: There are also some games like 'Salamander' and more, which will boot with garbled sprites, and some like 'Xadlak' which won't run at all; the core is still in beta.

Re: Arcades "Shadow Mask" the amount!

I believe there's a deeper issue here which should be discussed, though it has already been brought to light at many instances before. The dude above obviously got hold of an expired key for some redundant Jotego betas, so he's reluctant to update to the newest featured releases which would require an ongoing Patreon pledge. So, who's at fault here...

Re: Arcades "Shadow Mask" the amount!

Did you take a look at the update_all .ini option I mentioned? Just as you execute the script, push up on your dpad/joystick to have the configurator come up. If you're not a "patron" of Jotego's, you will not be able to assign controls in the beta cores and play, but you certainly get to see/adjust all the other 'standard' features of th...

I'm afraid not. Just compare with the speed the demo loop runs at. Maybe the sluggishness has to do with BGM syncing? (the demo -correctly- has no BGM).
