Re: Nintendo Style Controllers

I've seen some reviews on YouTube saying you need to buy a bluetooth dongle/receiver? Is there a specific one I need to buy? This is why I prefer wired controllers, as it's just plug and play straight out the box. If you ever want to go bluetooth you'd need to get a usb bluetooth dongle, for ex. one of these https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_M...

Same question as for the Nintendo NSO N64 controller? I asked a seller on eBay and he had no idea... I just want to plug and play straight into my USB hub without needing to buy another cable or adapter etc. Don't know about the Brawler, I have the Nintendo NSO 64 but didn't remember the cable so I checked here: https://www.nintendo.com/us/store/p...

I use before and after update scripts to restore and then move (hide) unwanted cores to a subdirectory of the cores directory, described here with example scripts. viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4001

Some games (for ex. Ocarina, Majora's Mask) require patching with the Patcher64+ Tool with 30FPS option enabled in order to get the higher frame rate. But there have been reports with Ocarina at least (don't know about Majora) on the Discord, of the 30FPS option causing certain glitches, possibly game-breaking, as certain actions and certain animat...

You could also try video_mode=1200,1024,60 just to see. Make sure monitor input is selected correctly for the dvi connector you're using. Check if you have enabled settings video_mode_ntsc and video_mode_pal and if they are enabled that they are set correctly. And make sure your monitor really is 1280x1024 and not 1024x768 or 1600x1200 as some othe...

How to force use of a Wi-Fi BSSID

I'm temporarily on a network with multiple AP's that use the same AP names (SSID's) but provide different un-bridged IP ranges that can't talk to each other. For this reason I'd like to force the MiSTer to use a specific BSSID (specific AP) so that it can be on the same IP range as my laptop. In /media/fat/linux/wpa_suplicant.conf I tried changing ...

Re: Using ASUS 2560x1600 Display in a Good Way?

Figured it out. Turns out a custom video mode for the full resolution works just fine: video_mode=2560,1600,60 This was surprising because I thought the standard mode 14 (2560x1440 = ~ 3.7 million pixels) was pushing the max of what the MiSTer HDMI can deliver. 2560x1600 (~ 4 million pixels) is more than that, but it works. The second best option, ...

The monitor displays and stretches any mode I feed it (1080p, and MiSTer defaults 12, 13, 14), with vsync_adjust=0 to keep things locked to 60 Hz (tried vsync_adjust=2 but it was causing the monitor to freak out and blank to black repeatedly and one time a vertical line of pixels was shimmering on the left edge). Could try mode 14 (2560x1440). It has horizontal pixel doubling, but if your monitor maintains the original aspect ratio, it should be 1:1 (since 2560 will fill to the sides.) That's interesting thanks! I was probably looking at an older ini (not the latest from https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/blob/master/MiSTer.ini), which only had up...

OEM is most authentic no Q, but I find the OEM N64 wired and Switch Online N64 bluetooth controllers to have stiff and not very pleasant analog sticks imo. Don't have any problem with OEM NES and SNES controllers. If you want to stick to wired for low latency, I'm liking the 8BitDo Ultimate wired USB for N64, the analog sticks are in X-Box layout a...

The ASUS ZenScreen MB16QHG is a portable monitor w/WQXGA (2560 x 1600) - don't have one yet but considering it.
