Re: Dell 2007FPb - Any experiences?

I’ve used it as a computer monitor at work and it was very hugely unimpressive. Grey, washed out, dark... Not to mention its ugly foot! I have nothing good to say about it. I cringe every time I see a youtuber use it for retro computing. Almost literally anything else would be better! Was it the VA one you had? My 2007 is pretty vibrant, actually ...

Re: Dell 2007FPb - Any experiences?

@metalfacemark - Sounds good, is there anyway of telling if one is IPS, like a serial code? Also what connector are you using; S-Video, Composite, VGA or DVI? Yeah, if you google you can see - but i just got lucky, i asked the guy if it was IPS and he said they were all PV he had, but he was wrong :D Im not currently using it but when i was i was ...

Re: Unable to get VGA monitor working through HDMI

The reason could also be your HDMI to VGA convertor. I have 4 of these and only one works. What is your exact setup? This is my setup: HDMI to VGA converter > VGA to Scart cable > Scart Adapter Breakout cable to BNC > Sony BVM HDMI to VGA cable straight to monitor. Ive also tried a regular HDMI cable with a VGA to hdmi convertor (ive tried two sep...

Re: Unable to get VGA monitor working through HDMI

video_mode=5 why? try: video_mode=6 vscale_mode=1 fb_terminal=1 also it should work with vsync_adjust=2 i reported on github some sync issues with hdmi to vga with the 3 latest main releases too but i was able to fix my sync issues with composite_sync=0 That was just the last mode i tried, ive tried them all :D Ive ended up using a VGA adaptor, bu...

Unable to get VGA monitor working through HDMI

Im at a bit of a loss, I cannot get my HDMI out to my VGA monitor at all. HDMI works fine using regular TV. This is my mister config. Im totally stumped, ive tried a variety of HDMI to VGA convertors, I have had it working in the past but for the life of me i feel ive tried everything but im sure im missing something stupid. Ive tried direct video ...

I have one, got it on ebay for £40 (got lucky and it was the IPS one).

Its great, really happy with it. I dont think the stand rotates though, i have mine on a monitor arm.

The stand i have dosent rotate anyway.

Memory module not working.

I was reassembling my mister this morning and managed to do the rookie mistake of putting the memory in the wrong way.

As a result its now not functioning correctly. Is my only option to replace it?

Re: Problem setting up mt32-Pi hat

Switched over the misters this morning - Confirmed it was one mister (mister that originally had HDMI loss from it before i switched out the DE10 Nano on it) - All working fine and dandy at last! So my other mister now has no hdmi and obviously something wonky with the actual mister itself, but its soldiering on in my arcade cabinet with just vga o...

Re: Problem setting up mt32-Pi hat

Ok! So put on my other mister, zero problems, fired up without a hitch!

So its something hardware on the other one - i also switched SD cards to double check it wasnt something software related.

Will it be the mister board thats faulty? Its a new DE-10 Nano in it, i guess the only way to work out will be to switch the mister boards.

Re: Problem setting up mt32-Pi hat

The cable was the one that came with it from misterfpga.co.uk So id assume it was okay. Just copying across the pc files to my other mister, on my main one though, if i plug the hard drive directly into it it doesnt see it, if i plug the pihat directly in for power it stops my other devices working. Problem I have is my other mister the HDMI doesnt...

Re: Problem setting up mt32-Pi hat

Im going to try it with my other mister tomorrow, that should rule out either the mister or the hat thats causing the problem i guess ?

I just wasnt sure i was supposed to change any settings in the actual mister.ini - or do anything to the pi before sticking the hat on top?

I do get a thing saying "UART Break error" when its loading up.

If you use a separate audio, I think the audio cable should be in MiSTer.

Re: Problem setting up mt32-Pi hat

Thank you, thats what I did too. I can see the hat working correctly, im just getting that terrible distorsion sound through the speakers that has left me stumped. Am I being a bit thick or should my audio cable still be in the mister and not in the pi itself? edit: out of curiousity, i tried it just on hdmi sound and i get the same distortion soun...

Re: Problem setting up mt32-Pi hat

If you wish to suppress the low voltage warning displayed on the mt32-pi, just do this, edit your config.txt on the root of the MicroSD card and add the following line above the [pi3] section. This disables the warnings and the throttling: avoid_warnings=2 great, thats bypassed the warning. Im suspecting it may be the roms i found online that are ...

Problem setting up mt32-Pi hat

Firstly, i need to say im a complete newbie when it comes to pi stuff, ive never used it before. Ive purchased a pi-hat, and a pi 3, plugged in the pi hat to the pi, put power to the pi and connected the pihat to the mister interface port as stated in the tutorial. Ive copied the mt32-pi.0.9.1-1.zip to a fat32 formatted sd card in windows. Copied s...

Loving this core, just need some game recommendations. I'd say check out https://www.rustypixels.uk/ , a small development team consisting of talented coders from back in the Spectrum era: - Tyvarian - Baggers in Space - Warhawk The above are paid, digital downloads are available which cost less. There's also a good Tetris version called "Cro...
