Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

@Neocaron If this is no issue at all I ask myself why it was with the "steam link". Games were playable as long they weren t fast shooters that required quick reactions. And that s what mame and arcade games are all about, right? The "steam link" wasn t exactly my favourite way to play games, where is the difference to GroovyMis...

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

Well, this is a nice feature, but it surely does add lots of latency, right??
If you have your setup close together (mister+pc) it`s certainly totally unnecessary to make use of this.

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

@psakhis

It doesn't seem to work for me. I've tried all the related files on github. The core is running, but upon connecting to the "mame_nogpu25" it's just freezing and 15khz output shuts down. Is there something else different on your system?

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

Anybody try the latest GroovyMister testbuild from yesterday (17.03.24)?
I'm either getting no stream at all with the combined groovymame .263 (+ it shuts down 15khz) or it won't stream sound with groovymame .261 (and some garbage video in menus)

Re: USB Hub Ports Seem to Be Dead

@retroplace

Thats funny. I do have the analog IO board too. After a year of use its starting to show the same effects. Sometimes it seems to be dead after powering up. I disconnect all usb devices and play around with the power plug. For no apparent reason it starts to come back...

Hi!

As far as I know Jotego is already working on a "Twin Cobra'" core. I guess he has a working board for this too.
But you can ask him yourself about this. Help is always welcome.

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

I tried Windows build of groovy_dolphin and it's pretty good! https://github.com/m-dahl/groovy-dolphin/releases 480i is slow for me (on Mister side) but 240p is nice. Sound is a bit hitchy and some image glitches here and there but looks great and feels nice overall. Forgive my ignorance ....but....what's exactly the point for groovy-dolphin? As f...

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

Starting ST-V games immediately crashes the groovy.rbf on the mister side...
Just some graphics garbage. The Mame emulation is running though.
As far as I can tell ST-V games are 15khz, so why the erratic behaviour?

Re: Groovy_MiSTer Core

Hi again! I finally got it working. At first I tried it with my dlan connection. It worked but had video drops here and there. LAN is working fine though. I noticed it can still be tricky to force mame into correct timings. I was fiddling around with the settings after "Shadow Dancer" got lots of tearing and "strange" sound. It ...

Re: Any way to control Forgotten Worlds better?

@lagerfeldt

If I remember correctly the parcel from thundersticks wasnt shipped directly from the US, but came from an adress here in germany. I guess theyve created a "european branch" for the "international version" of the stick. How else could they claim distribution outside of the USA with an official license by SNK?

I purchased the "international version" of this joystick at thundesticks and it came toll free to my home in germany.

So...no worries

Re: Any way to control Forgotten Worlds better?

Well....the arcade machine is controlled by a joystick and additional spinner.
You could purchase the "ikari joystick" by thundersticks, like I did.

Forgotten Worlds is one of my "all time favourite" acrade games btw.
Very sad capcom didn't produce a sequel until now

ST-V Core?

Hi!

As the saturn core seems to make good progress, I was wondering if the ST-V core would be possible too.
The ST-V is just a saturn for the arcade after all (with little more ram?).

What do you think?

Mars Matrix Weird Behaviour?

Hi!

I just came across the Mars Matrix core for mister. Well....I don't know the arcade board, but I would be surprised if the timings of the game were corect like on mister. Everything seems to be way to fast and the game speed even seems to vary...

Is this a known issue?

Hi!

You´re experiencing pretty much what I described here: viewtopic.php?t=7111
According to the amount of responses not many people do seem to care about the issue...

But you´re right: Right now the way MAME handles it is far better

it seems to be impossible due to the weak hardware of the de-10 nano.

Overriding buttons when pressed simultanously?

Hi! One issue the bothers me about the mister is the handling of button presses, when using two different physical buttons for one emulated button press. I'm using this in MAME for games like "Strikers 1945" or "R-Type": One button is set for autofire, the other one for "charging up" your shot. MAME "overrides&quo...

Can somebody pls explain to me the procedure to get into unibios setting with the CDZ? Pressing "Select" on startup does nothing for me. I don't have any trouble getting into the unibios using the AES/MVS mode, as there is even a settings screen for it. Until recently I didn't realize that the unibios is even made for the CD/CDZ too... th...

Re: Cannot Load .chd with CDZ Setting

Hi! Here are my experiences with the new neo geo core so far: Some game images won't run with the CDZ + UniBios settings so far (like Last Blade 1+2 for example). The reason for this eludes me... However these games run fine with the normal "Neo Geo CD"-Bios. Trying to speed up load times with the 4x setting doesn't help. At first it look...

Yeah...deleting doesn't change anything. I just found out, that there's something strange going on with button mapping on this core. It won't accept any button as "coin" for example. I reconfigured and now at least I can start the games and play.

Anybody experiencing this too?

Re: SEGA 16 Public Release

Hi!

I just noticed, that I'm getting the "patreon"-message in all System16 games too. Since I'm a patreon and have downloaded the latest "jtbeta.zip" that should not be the case. Deleting the .mra get me the same result after "update_all".

Do I have to download the public .mra anywhere else? Where?

Thx
