Mine just showed up as well, but under “define joystick buttons”, when I get to mouse right/mouse left etc, the trackball is just flat out ignored. I can map the buttons, but not the ball.

Sorry to tack onto this thread, but I am wanting to order a 12v 3a power for this screen, and I have seen two different plug sizes mentioned. One is 3.5mm, and another is 1.35mm. Which one is it, and is it positive or negative tip? the screen will have some basic instructions on the website page you purchased from ?? my LCD was from aliexpress and...

It is the HDMI-CEC line getting hosed up by the mister.

Either get a CEC-less cable, or a CEC-less pass through plug.

Although - I could have sworn composite video, and by extension, luma, was supposed to be 1vP-P. I should go look that up again. We may very well have this backwards. Overdriving the line the closer you get to white.

No problem. My own CRT is needing some parts still. I have the sync stripper stuff just laying here, but I kinda need a video display.

Hopefully it really is as simple as boosting the sync.

Bah, wait. I misread you. You are measuring sync PLUS Y. For clarification, Y is your old school black and white television picture. We refer to it as “luma”. If you take that green wire, plug it into a composite video input, you should get a stable black and white picture. So sync plus Y Is yielding just short of 3v, but that doesn’t tell us the s...

Seems to me we should probably get a read on all 3 lines, and if needed build a simple circuit to attenuate the signal. We are talking super cheap, less than $5 USD in parts.

I did a little digging, and apparently anything between 0.3vp-p and 1.0vp-p is acceptable, so that sync pulse would have to be awfully weak.

Actually, that should be pretty simple to do if it is truly the problem. My understanding is that the sync pulse should be 1.0Vp-p (peak to peak). If you run the composite sync line to a probe for a multimeter with a peak-hold feature, you should be able to measure that directly. You could even use a sync stripper on the Y (green) line of the YPbPr...

I lied a bit. It was mDNS that I was thinking of that had me looking for a package manager. For grins I did take raspbian on an sdcard and attempt booting it. Looks like it either doesn't fully boot, or if it does it isn't driving the hdmi output, and the UART port doesn't show up on my laptop - so that idea may be DOA anyway.

It only came up for me wanting to load some packages. If there’s no benefit I won’t bother. Things like aria2 might be nice to have on board though.

I am very new to mister. I am aware the mister is less powerful when it comes to the arm cpu than a raspberry pi, and that we are building on top of the Linux provided by Terrasic. The worm in my brain though is loading raspbian onto an sd card, then trying to build the fpga stuff on top of that, leaving one with all of the benefits of raspbian (pr...
