I picked up a dance aerobics cart for cheap and was able to confirm that my power pad works just fine. So I think it's just the core doesn't properly support the power pad
I suppose it could also be something with my snac adapter, but I haven't had an issue with any other peripheral I've tried.

Has anyone successfully used a real power pad with snac?
I picked up a power pad today and can't get it working correctly with mister fpga. As I'm searching around, I can't find any evidence that anyone has made this work. Unfortunately, I don't have a power pad game to test on a real nes. In the core settings, I'm using "Swap Joysticks: Yes" and "Serial Mode: SNAC". All other inputs ...

Re: SNAC zapper works, controller doesn't
It was set to I/O. I tried changing it to 3.3v just now, but no change. Probably worth mentioning I have a 6.1 standard IO board also from misteraddons. I checked continuity from my nes controller through the blissbox cable to the snac, and that all checked out fine. Also, for what it's worth, I tried an snes controller through the snac on the snes...

SNAC zapper works, controller doesn't
I just got a snac recently, the one from misteraddons. And I got the hdmi/nes cable from blissbox. I got the zapper working with light gun games. I then tried to use a controller on some different games (tried both an oem and a new 3rd party controller) and couldn't get it to work at all. I tried many combinations of settings in the Input menu for ...
