Hey all,
I'm certain in its beta state the Saturn core had SNAC support. I've got a Saturn adapter for my SNAX from PorkChop Express but the current core doesn't seem to use it. I've checked all menus and unless I've missed something I can't find it, is this planned in future?
Cheers

Re: N64 Core
Unsure if this has been asked but using the latest core (and in fact every version I've tried) I get a crash at the Mario 64 title screen. Have tried various roms and the same issue occurs. A lot of other titles work fine so just wondering if I'm missing something settings-wise?
Cheers

Re: N64 Core
Yeah I agree with FPGA64 for once! XD It's important to maintain realistic expectations. The fact that Robert is consistently sharing even the smallest updates to the core with the community is truly a remarkable privilege that we should all appreciate. The fact it's running well on most CRT at this stage is even surprising especially given the sub...

Re: VRR on OLED Issues
vrr_mode=2 works for me on the LG C1. Also be sure you go in game optomizer on the TV and flip on freesync. vrr_mode=3 might work too but I haven't tried. You would need forum vrr/g-sync turned on in game optomizer for that. Yup that did it! Cheers. Only time I've had to actually turns freesync premium on manually as every other piece of hardware ...

VRR on OLED Issues
Recently picked up a MisterCade which is fab and works brilliantly in my CRT cabs. Having had a MiSTer in my living room on my LG OLED for console stuff previously I thought I'd try it with VRR for correct refresh rates on odd games/cores. When I select any VRR option in the ini menu it either doesn't display or goes crazy. VRR works fine on the 30...

MiSTer VRR on LG OLED?
Hi all I sold my 2 MiSTer setups last year as needed the cash. One thing that bugged me was the lack of VRR, which meant on my LG OLED which supports Free and G Sync I would get improper shadow flickering on Samurai Showdown 2 and some other games as is forced it to 60hz. I've heard the VRR update realeased this year now corrects this. I just wonde...

Re: 4 way/8 way selection on inputs?
There are some cores with 'one way' stick code - but it's not consistent I'm afraid, as it's a per core implementation. Atari Tetris has quite an in-depth method with a lot of options on how it emulates a 4 way stick that you can change with the 'Diagonal' option in the OSD. Lady Bug just has a basic one that just has a preferred direction - e.g. ...

Re: 4 way/8 way selection on inputs?
Much like their original counterparts, the MiSTer cores don't actually recognize/register diagonal inputs. It's the physical motion of the stick that's causing loss of precision when you accidentally hit a diagonal. So I guess rotating the gate's insert in 'diamond' orientation (if you have JLFs), or moving the subguide to the 4-way position (if y...

4 way/8 way selection on inputs?
I used my MiSTers in my arcade cabs. On my vert Egret I have 4 way restrictions for 4 way games like Pacman, Donkey Kong etc. However I'm sure there was a soft option to enable 4 way sticks that simply blocked diagonals being registered. If so anyone know where this option is!? Cheers

Remove/Hide input buttons on game startup?
Hi all,
Is there a way to remove or hide the button mapping pop-up that appears in the top left when a game starts? I use my MiSTer on a cab and it totally throws me out of the experience. Thanks.

Anyone? Mode 1 keyboard input is fine, I just can't map two sticks, so no Robotron. Mode 3 crashes with button presses.

Xinput on JPAC crashes MiSTer
Can't figure this one out. On a JPAC latest firmware 1.55. Keyboard mode (mode 1) works fine, no issues apart from the Robotron twin sticks problem. I switch to mode 3 Xinput and the setup will let me set up the stick no issues as soon as I tap any button at all the MiSTer freezes and I have to reset it. This issues happens on the menu and in-game....

Re: MiSTer Freesync and LG CX TVs - Not Possible?
I've got two CRT televisions, 2 models of SNES, the MiSTer, and now I'm inclined to check later. 🙂 I think I'm going to stick to the arcade cabs for now and keep an eye if anyone else finds anything about the CX as it clearly can't match exact frame rates, which seems to be an issue when a sub £200 monitor can do it! Perhaps the answer is to use a...

Certain arcade cores not syncing to arcade monitor?
I'm not sure if I'm missing anything in the .ini here but with the low 50hz frequencies on Robotron 2084 and Kung Fu Master cores I'm experiencing de-sync issues on my MS-9 monitor. I've run the actual board on Robotron on there and this plays fine along with NBA JAM which also runs at a 54hz frequency so I know they work. I'm wondering if there is...

I've got two CRT televisions, 2 models of SNES, the MiSTer, and now I'm inclined to check later. 🙂 I'll die of shame if the jerkiness is in the original cart. I've finished at least 25 times and played it hundreds of times, mainly on orignal carts so am intrigued what you find! Interestingly if I run it on my Nvidia Shield on Retorarch it does som...

Re: Tutorial: How to set up your MiSTer with a J-PAC/I-PAC
I've having issues with this - solely the menu key. I'm using a JPAC. As I start to define the keys all is fine, but I cannot then use the USB keyboard to skip any button inputs and it gives me no option to define a menu key.
Edit. Sorted now.

Re: MiSTer Freesync and LG CX TVs - Not Possible?
Interesting. Even more surprising I've just been running the Mister through my cabs. I have two Taito Egret 2 candies both with nanao ms9 crts in. All the Neo stuff is perfect as you'd expect. What isn't perfect is Super Mario World. It has the same issue as it does when on the OLED. This leads me to believe I've never noticed it. However I find th...

Re: MiSTer Freesync and LG CX TVs - Not Possible?
I find it weird too. So much so I did several tests. The two most obvious and the scrolling pauses in the Samurai Spritis II background on the character select screen and the Mario World one. I find the latter unplayable. Maybe because I am so familiar with Mario World? Any length where you have a straight run you can see the issue on that game. Ru...

Re: MiSTer Freesync and LG CX TVs - Not Possible?
Not that I'm aware. Yup everyone is it seems. It reports VRR instead of fixed when it switches to match the refresh rate like on on Series X. Using a Series X you need to enable Freesync on the console to get it to switch as I'm assuming it sends the expected signal and handshakes with it. I'm wondering if it doesn't like it simply because you can'...

Re: MiSTer Freesync and LG CX TVs - Not Possible?
Please keep the thread updated. I plan to buy a CX so I would know what I am getting into :) @Escape-To-88 maybe there is something which is forcing the panel to resample to exactly 60hz? Will do, and that's my early thinking too. We're both of the mind that the issues are FAR less noticeable than they were on 60hz fixed panels, but still ever so ...

Re: MiSTer Freesync and LG CX TVs - Not Possible?
I've also attached a photo of the Freesync/refresh rate info you get when you spam the green button on the CX. As you can see it reports the correct refresh rate on Neo Geo coming but the '60hz Fixed' text tells you that's what the panel is currently displaying. I've also tried higher resolutions and get the same info.
