I just updated to OS230423 and my Wifi is broken as well. Using recommended Edimax dongle, and it worked perfectly fine before the update.

Eye of the Beholder (C64 and C128) Quick Look on MiSTer
I made a video where I play the review version of Eye of the Beholder (C64/C128) on the MiSTer FPGA. Thanks to the dev team for allowing me an early look at the game.

Link game of Oxyd 1/2 between two MiSTers works
Yesterday, I got a link (nullmodem) cable game of Oxyd (and Oxyd 2) to work on the Atari ST core, linking two MiSTers on the local Wi-Fi network. Here are the steps that worked for me: - Use TOS206US, monochrome monitor setting. - Set UART to Modem, TCP, 19200 on both MiSTers. - Boot the same game (Oxyd or Oxyd 2, hi-res monochrome versions) on bot...

Re: How to Play a Nullmodem Link Game With Two MiSTers?
I know why it doesn’t work with Oxyd 1: the game is hardcoded to use COM 2 and it seems MiSTer Modem is hardcoded to use COM 1 :/

Re: How to Play a Nullmodem Link Game With Two MiSTers?
I got it to work with Per.Oxyd!!!! - Set the game to COM 1 and 19200 baud in the game options on both MiSTers. - Set the UART in AO486 OSD Menu to Modem, TCP, 19200 baud on both MiSTers. - In the Per.Oxyd title screen on both misters, click once on the two player icon to enable network game setup. The two player icon will change from grey to black....

How to Play a Nullmodem Link Game With Two MiSTers?
I think I need some help setting up a virtual nullmodem connection between two MiSTers running AO486 at my home. I would like to play a nullmodem (direct link) game of Oxyd between two MiSTers using AO486 COM1. The game manual says that either a nullmodem cable or a modem can be used. It allows typing in commands like atdt if one uses a modem. On M...

You can also press sniper+menu once which switches to permanent mouse mode. Then you don’t have to keep the sniper button pressed to use the analog stick mouse emulation.

Re: Linux Games
I would love to run Nethack 3.6.6 on the console on MiSTer. I don’t think it is very demanding and there seems to be a snapstore version for Rpi already so that should be an arm executable with all dependencies statically linked? I don’t know how to download it and try it without snapstore though. EDIT: Never mind, I found a version 3.6.5 of Nethac...

I am getting the same error with all my headerless hdf files. I suspect maybe the re-added support is not as complete as it used to be?!?!

Re: My *.hdf drive wont boot after latest update
But now I have an Idefix97 nag screen when I boot. Is the shareware version of Idefix the only one available? The Idefix97 folder should have a register icon that you can double click. Then a window comes up where you can enter a name, serial number and key to register it. Then the nag screen goes away. Google is your friend. I bet my original pro...

Midnight Commander is already available. Boot MiSTer, press F9, user: root, pass: 1, type “mc” and press Enter.

Re: My *.hdf drive wont boot after latest update
It looks like "geometry type" hdf doesn't work anymore, only "rdb" type. In addition, on my rdb hdf, I had to install idefix, otherwise many Workbench programs would show software failure on start. After installation of idefix, and ensuring my hdf are "rdb" type, it now all works again for me.

Re: AUDIO Implementation (Amiga AND Framework)
The new MiSTer Minimig code today has a filter enable option only in the menu. The user has to enable or disable the filter. But the Amiga had the so called LED filter that could be enabled and disabled by software running on the Amiga. For example, driving through tunnels in Lotus 1 enabled the filter automatically (power LED would go on, sound mu...

Re: SHMUP Slowdown / Accuracy of Arcade Cores
It looks like input lag on Groovymame is quite bad, 2-3 frames compared to pcb, see this video for example: https://youtu.be/t0fkVi6p1oE I think MiSTer is already performing much better than that? Also there have been tests of MiSTer compared to real hardware, for example with SF2 and they stayed perfectly in sync for a long time, at least 6 minute...

Or just buy a better hub. Amazon Basics 10 port powered usb2 hub works fine with me. It doesn't power the de10, but it powers the other devices connected. They cost nothing.

Re: Scaling artifact in 1080p
I think this is a repeat, but might be good to check some or all of these things, if you haven't done so. First: Make sure you actually use 1080p output by setting video_mode=8 in mister.ini. The default is video_mode=0 which forces output to only 720p, which looks horrible on a 1920x1080 screen, because your screen firmware will do crappy scaling ...

I use a Turbotwist 2 spinner with the Arkanoid core and it works and plays great. It is seen as a mouse.

Re: Shared folder discussion
Is there a recommended set of arguments for emm386 that works best with games and misterfs.exe?
Is the shared folder subject to the same max 8 Gb (or 2 Gb) total size restriction as regular vhd partitions?
If the shared folder works reliably and can be larger than 8Gb, that would be awesome

Almost correct, but a period of 1 ms corresponds to a frequency of only 1 kHz, so it is even slower than you say.

Crash‘n‘Burn is amazing, especially for its time. Also, Need for Speed on 3DO is more like a simulation. It plays totally different, better in my opinion, than the PS1 version.

yep descent 1/2 crashes dos4gw. Same with Star Wars TIE Fighter Collector's CD-ROM. TIE Fighter Collector's CD-ROM works for me, even in Hi-Res (the joystick is not recognised, but I didn't manage to get joystick support working in X-Wing or TIE Fighter in any version with any of the Cache versions).
