Re: Faster USB keyboard and mouse polling
That problem you mention with repeated keys doesn't happen at all. That's not how keyboard polling works AFAIK. Why don't you try it first, instead of guessing? It is just a simple quick edit of uboot.txt. I have been using my suggested uboot.txt for several days now, no problems encountered so far. Maybe some linux coder or someone who is actually...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
You won't believe it: I am playing Strike Commander CD on ao486 latest cache version. It is perfectly playable using maximum detail options (textures on etc.). Maybe 20 fps, or even higher. Awesome! Joystick and mouse works, too! Music, sound effects and speech works, intro works, all perfect it seems.

Faster USB keyboard and mouse polling
We already have 1ms USB game controller polling in MiSTer and it is great. But why not speed up keyboard and mouse USB polling as well, to reduce mouse and keyboard input lag? I think this is useful for computer cores like ao486 and minimig, for example, for fast action or skill games. I propose to add usbhid.mousepoll=1 and usbhid.kbpoll=1 in linu...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
I played a lot with cache28 preview using DOS and Windows 95 yesterday and as long as I use 90 MHz and don't switch to 100 MHz, everything seems to be working perfectly already! I even played Doom in fullscreen and it was smooth! The game Stunts works perfect too, brings back memories. Even Wing Commander is now superfast using 90 MHz, needs slowin...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Cache28 breaks the 256 colour mode in Windows 95 for me, it's fine in Cache27, but in Cache28 lots of graphical artifacts are produced once I move the mouse pointer. It still works for me. I just tried switching Windows 95 to 640x480 256 colors using Cache28, no artifacts or problems moving mouse and windows around. Did you update boot0.rom? There...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Amazing work! I am playing Settlers 2 Gold using the “cache24” preview version of the core from this thread, et4000w32.bin used as boot1.rom and univbe 4.0 freeware vbe driver started under ms-dos. It works great even with full music and sound fx. Scrolling the map is a bit sluggish, but not too bad. C0B063A7-F084-41C1-810A-AF03C8DBCF3D.jpeg Window...

MiSTer is the best! Thank you!
I bought my MiSTer approximately a year ago, and I have been blown away by it every time I turned it on since first powering it up. A big THANK YOU from me to all the devs that make MiSTer possible, especially to sorgelig for leading the project and all the work. - I love playing Amiga with zero lag and smooth scrolling for the first time again sin...

Re: music sounds out of tune
I also noticed that wrong pitch and even shifting pitch in Blazing Star music. It is definitely there and noticable. It sounds like the music slows down and speeds up changing pitch ever so slightly.

Re: Jotego Update June 5th
Your problem might be different, but I also had missing file errors. The problem for me was that I had two "mame" directories. I had an empty one "/games/mame" in addition to my normal one "/_arcade/mame". The solution is to delete the empty "/games/mame" folder. Running the official MiSTer update script agai...

Re: FTP Browse to USB Drive?
Hmm I just tried to access my games directory again, via ftp, and now the games/megaCD folder from the USB stick does not appear anymore. Maybe I was wrong about this union of folders.

Re: FTP Browse to USB Drive?
I think nothing is needed to browse USB? It is already mounted inside FAT? For example, I copied a single folder to my USB Stick. The folder was "games/MegaCD", and removed the folder from SD card. So the USB stick had games/MegaCD, but the SD Card didn't have it. If I now browse to the games folder via samba, all subfolders are shown, ev...
