If you haven't already, add a "Directory or Archive" in the CD/HD List and call it Shared . Otherwise it hangs when trying to mount it during bootup. That should be handled by the 1.3 patched shared FS driver that is included, but maybe that broke with the latest core updates? It works fine on MiSTer...it's WinUAE that it hangs on.

Re: Journey Cassette player not working

Put the sound folder under games to get it to work.
It my have worked at some point, but at the moment, the way the MRA is referencing the folder, Main looks for it in games instead of _Arcade (or from where the MRA was launched).

Re: New Rotary Joystick From GRS in Pre-prod Testing

Out of the box, the controller's spinner doesn't work with Ikari Warriors. At least I couldn't get it to work in any of the controller's modes.
You can get Midnight Resistance to work with some fiddling around.

It's defined in the linux headers and not part of the Mister Main code.
It's part of the development environment, so wherever you installed the compiler...... arm-none-linux-gnueabihf/libc/usr/include/linux/input-event-codes.h

Re: Analogue Duo?

Well, after seeing a few more reviews, it looks like the original everdrives don't work at all...not just a "doesn't fit" issue and all reviewers that said the everdrive worked were using the Pro version. I have a v1.1 and I know it works with my original TG16 and with my Turbo Duo, so if it doesn't currently work with the Analogue, maybe...

I need to show my appricahtion - do you know if he has a Pateron on one of those Buy Me A Coffee links ?

I am not aware of if she has a patreon or not, but she's the Admin of the MiSTer Discord Server, you can always pop on there and tell her Hi.

Re: Analogue Duo?

After watching, I don't think I will need to open mine until at least the next firmware. I have very little Japanese and USA Hucards, and my OG Everdrive won't work with it. Hopefully a jailbreak will be soon. Even the Pocket still gives me audio sync issues. I'll play on Mister for now. I'm assuming you have the Everdrive with the riveted cover o...

Re: Universe BIOS Cannot Get to Menu ABC Doesn’t Work

When you say you press ABC...are you pressing all three buttons at the same time or are you using the separate mapping for an ABC button? I have found that pressing the "ABC" button works more often then pressing and holding down the A, B and C buttons. I have the same issue on my MVS-4 were I have to time it just right with the key press...

Re: Bomb Jack Test

Can I ask what the original issue was ? The original issue is when a sprite is rendered on the top line of the play field (where it contacts the border, not the actual screen), the very first line of the sprite is replicated on the very top of the screen. There was also some clipping of the sprite(s) where it didn't render if it went slightly over...

Bomb Jack Test

So, as suggested by a couple of folks over on another thread, I decided to take a look at Bomb Jack and see what may be wrong. First, I have to say that the core is written pretty well and follows the schematics pretty faithfully so it was a challenge to try and narrow down the issue...there just wasn't any clear indication of anything wrong. So af...

Re: Spinners, Trackballs, and the Setting 0xFFFF

If you have spinners you want to use (like the controller in original post), you should find the VID and PID of the controller (or if the spinner(s) show up as separate devices, get their respective VID/PID) and add the spinner_vid=spinner's VID spinner_pid=spinner's PID If you have multiple spinners that share the same VID/PID, then you only need ...

I had some free time this weekend so I decided to take a look at the core and see if I can figure anything out. While looking into the core, I also noticed that sprites were off by a few lin...

Re: Atari 5200 - Choplifter Problem

A couple things to double check: While the DPAD may work in some 5200 games, it's actually meant to use an analogue stick, especially for choplifter. If you are using a controller with analogue sticks, make sure you have properly configured them with MiSTer's Main first (i.e. configure the Analogue stick(s) as the Left/Right Sticks.) Good idea to t...

If I'm not mistaken, for the player_X_controller setting, you can also specify the usb port each controller is plugged into. Here is an example (values most likely different for you. These are the values I use to force individual usb ports to a particular player.): player_1_controller=usb-1.2/input2 player_2_controller=usb-1.2/input3 When you have ...

Use names.txt to give each of them unique names so they are easier to distinguish between them.
As for the directories, keep one as is (ex Genesis) and link the other (ex MegaDrive) to it with the ln -s command.

You are right. For some reason I was mistakenly under the impression that it organized the whole Arcade folder and not just the "Organized" folder.

Did you map the controller in Mister Main first? Once you do that, then you should map the controller in each core you want to use. Also try the InputTest "core" under Utilities to see if all buttons/joysticks respond. If only Player 1 is usable, you may need to use the no_merge_vidpid option. ex. If your VID/PID of your jamma to usb devi...

Re: Longterm ExFAT Reliability

What MiSTer (Main) has done is kept to a minimum how much writing it does to the SD card to reduce the possibility of SD card corruption and to also extend the life of it since flash media has a finite amount of writes.
It doesn't actively prevent corruption....it just tries really hard not to be the cause.

The issue is that the update all script removes the current core, even if you manually copied it to the SD card like I did. It's most likely unintentional, but I can see the frustration some folks may have with it. And yes, you can download the RBF and MRAs and manually place them on the SD card...just don't run update_all script again until either...
