Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

Hmmm never received an email. Order said expected to ship end of November. I'll shoot them an email to see if there is a status thanks. Do check with The Retro Group. They are shipping as fast as possible, all the board only shipments went out in just a few days. If you ordered a cased system or deluxe kit it will most probably depend slightly on ...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

Thanks for the feedback, and I'm really happy you feel it's a good system. We are listening to what the community wants in 2022 and beyond, all and any feedback is very much welcome, encouraged and needed. On the expansion port cover, (dust cover) this was originally a click-in fitting part, but some of the early testing indicated this was frustra...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

I got mine yesterday and I have to agree with everyone else's reviews. The new board is very well designed and the quality of the 3D printed case is high. The fully assembled MMS feels dense and very solid. The only thing I would change right now is how the expansion cover is secured as it is very easy to remove or drop while moving the unit. This...

Fantastic! - great to hear it all went well. That's a really clean setup you have there, compact screen and wired controllers, good choice.

Cheers,

Right. Mines here and assembled. Case feels nice and solid and both sides mate really well. Assembly is simple but can be fiddly when routing cables but it's very neat when put together. All in all I'm very happy with it.
Looking Good. MiSTer is so awesome.

I really hope you enjoy using the Multisystem.

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

In retro gaming the line between computers and consoles is a bit blurry at best. Some consoles had keyboards, some computers took cartridges.. let's just have fun with all the awesomeness MiSTer brings us. Even the Commodore 64 had a cartridge port and also a 'console' version that had no keyboard. MiSTer can handle everything, so regardless if yo...

Arrghh, realise it is not mini itx spaced. Seems a strange design choice not to stick to a standard. Has anyone received theirs yet and been able to fit it in a mini itx case? Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

I’m curious about Sorgelig’s opinion on this thing. Has he said anything? What are you actually curious about? I contacted Alexey (Sorgelig) directly before we completed the initial prototypes. We always openly discuss the design here and anywhere anyone asks questions, we want to support and produce more for the MiSTer FPGA community, long-term p...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

Thanks. Do you have USB pinout to USB adapters you can recommend? We used exactly the same standard 5 pin configuration as a PC motherboard for internal USB headers - sometimes they are dual (10 pin) but any standard internal 5 pin Single in-line USB cable should work, just check that one end has a ground and shield (ground) wires and the other en...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

4 pin is for regular USB, 5 pin allows OTG. So for just hooking up the SSD drive 4pins are enough? No, The 5th Pin is the USB shield (connected to ground). If you have a cable with only 4 Single in-line pins they may not be shielded or they have put both the shield and GND into the same crimp pin connection. Ideally use the 5 pin connections / ada...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

Yes, you can, as long as the SSD interface has a USB connection - so a SSD drive to USB adaptor enclosure or cable should work - you can then connect it to one of the internal USB connections. It will be seen in MiSTer as a mass storage drive on the USB Bus. Thanks. Do you have USB pinout to USB adapters you can recommend? We used exactly the same...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

A 2 memory module is z. The result, for example, that the boards previously used there can no longer function in this form, because there are simply not enough IO pins for everything. Personally, I therefore think it is much more likely that great efforts will be made to prevent this from happening. I agree with you, and wish also for core develop...

err... wait, do I understand correctly that RGB SCART doesn't require any fussy .ini manipulation? Shouldn't I need to enter specific core profiles etc.? If that's the case (pun intended), then count me in! The SCART port has a few little quality of life improvements over a standard VGA to SCART cable - You don't need to alter the mister.ini file ...

Re: MiSTer Multisystem - All-in-One System

What type of plasic is used to 3D print the enclosure? I prefer the white variant (B) but I am a little concerned about its UV resistance. I don't want to end up with a yellowish case (years from now). It's PLA plastic (matte finish) for the 3D printed enclosure. This is a stable, strong and rigid plastic, should not be troubled by UV and colours ...

Using Memtest, what kind of frequencies are you getting as stable from the RAM? We have done a lot of memory testing and with the different batches built up so far we see around 140Mhz to 146Mhz. We have a very electrical heavy factory, lots of AC switching motors and various equipment so it's quite 'noisy' from a radiated and conducted emissions ...

It's exactly the same as the Analogue output of the MiSTer Analogue I/O board, so has the same depth, colour and compatibility.
