Re: 9.7" iPad Retina Screen Perfect for MiSTer, $60 Fully Assembled 😄

Brought this stand from aliexpress - the vesa mount fitted my laser bear printed case for the ipad screen https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006165226217.html Awesome, that looks exactly the same as the one I have, but with a VESA mount. I've just ordered this one: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006253271015.html which looks exactly the same...

Re: The State of DACs for the MiSTer and Direct Video

For excellent quality composite, get an active VGA to YC/Composite adapter (MikeS1 design), I got mine from RetroCastle. These will work with the native YC signal support that MikeS1 has been building into the MiSTer cores. Yeah, I'm a little confused about that, maybe you can help me understand. 1. Why do we need those Y/C cores? Because I have a...

Re: The State of DACs for the MiSTer and Direct Video

Wait for the new official version nine IO boards to be available from reputable sellers like Ultimate MiSTer, MisterFPGA.co.uk, MiSTer Addons etc. They will have 24-bit color output on their VGA connector and good quality analog audio. I will be upgrading my IO board. But that one won't have USB ports, a power button and most importantly an option...

But the core doesn't, does it? That could very well be the case. It looks like the controller just uses the joystick pins (up, down, fire, ground), but I wonder if the decoding was done in hardware or software. Because if it was the latter, you'd expect it to just work. https://www.atariage.com/2600/archives/schematics/Schematic_2600_Accessories_L...

The icode adapter works fairly well: https://www.ebay.com/itm/284281643607 . It does not support the driving controller with MiSTer. I haven't found anything that does. It should also be noted that the official way is the MiSTer Spinner: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Retro-Controllers-USB-MiSTer/blob/master/PaddleTwoControllersUSB/README.md The ...

Re: Assistance on how to get started

A MiSTer FPGA is easier to put together than a typical LEGO kit, even with all the optional boards. In its most basic form, MiSTer is a DE10 Nano board with a 32MB SDRAM module (version 2.9 or 3.0 recommended) a Micro SD Card (size depending on what kind of games you want to play) and a simple USB hub (plus a USB controller and optionally mouse and...

This sounds very familiar. But my problems are hitting a bit harder. I made a post about something similar today. however it also happens to AO486 for me. This is the post I made in the newbie-forum. Is it the same? After an update the mister started crashing when I loaded cores with diskfiles (hard disk files). Not sure where the size limit goes ...

Re: Audio pop issue on power and when loading cores?

This might be fixed by having a newly loaded core gradually go from this min or max value to the center value, say during the first few frames, so it becomes inaudible.

The other way around, when exiting a core, would be tricky or maybe not even possible, depending on how the reset button works.

There's possibly something wrong with that 0Mhz version. It has been working well with the Top 300 pack. When I get back home I can check if it works on my setup.

Hi there, unfortunately I've discovered that, while the Recreated works fine with ZX81, in Zx Spectrum core - after 20 minutes (plus or more) of use, it loses systematically the connection...

That is an odd problem, almost sounds like some kind of power saving thing. I hope @pgimeno will be able to fix that.

LOL :D It was relevant though, as Monos was talking about a big TV. Yet, here I am using the MiSTer on my puny 9 inch iPad display exclusively.

It can download both. Just run the script twice (with and without prefer_mt32 set)

I tried this, after the non-mt32 downloads were finished and unfortunately it deleted every non-mt32 mgl file again (the media files were untouched). Maybe that is because I have the option to always redownload mgl files enabled.

Re: Vectrex Output to an Oscilloscope Through VGA Port

This is great! I was wondering years ago if something like this would be possible. I guess with the new analog IO boards, with 24-bit VGA output, this could work even better?

Some games I remember using variable brightness (Z output) are: Mine Storm, Web Warp and Dark Tower.

I have a Vectrex, but also a CRT scope, it would be fun to try this.
