Re: tty2rgbmatrix

Thanks for this project! I'm building this for my bartop, but the problem that I'm having is that for some reason the gifs are not displaying. All I get is the string "CMDCOR,name of the core,-1" in the leds for a moment when I start a core and then I get the text MiSTer FPGA. I've uploaded the gifs to the ESP32 without problems inside a...

arkanoid-new.gif arkanoid gif is done. will upload to github shortly. also think i've got the SDcard loader code figured out so that should appear soon as well. will be a separate sketch so folks can choose. tho eventually i want to fully eclipse the original version with something that pulls right from the MiSTer but im not there yet. been a real...

Re: tty2rgbmatrix

Finished my build with SD Card support… Could you please share how to connect the SD Reader to the ESP Board. //Edit In think I got it. Do you use the Accelerometer Port of the Trinity? on a trinity board there's a break out for pins 2, 34*, 33, 32, SDA, SCL, GND and 3v3. that's where my intention was to put an SDcard reader i picked up from adafr...

Re: tty2rgbmatrix

That‘s the update for the tty2oled firmware. Cancel this and disable the option in the ini file. Howto is given on matrix github page. The Matrix Github tells me to follow the instructions to configure the tty2oled as the first step. I'm honestly confused :( Sorry! that's my bad. i should have been more specific about those instructions. i will tr...

Re: tty2rgbmatrix

im in a class for work all week so im sorry for lack of updates. i am trying to adapt the current version to the tty2oled_usb version so we can pull gifs directly from the MiSTer since i already ran out of storage on the esp32. also haven't tested the desktop enclosure as my basement is in shambles and the 3d printer is not available at this time. ...

Re: tty2rgbmatrix

So this is based on 128x32 correct? Are you still considering the 192x64 version? currently its 128x32. im still on the fence about 192x64. to do that the panel would be 120 mm tall and 480 mm wide using the p2.5 panels ive been able to source. thats a bit larger than my bartop arcade marquee would need. but yeah it would be good for a full uprigh...

okay, here are some screen shots of my first draft at a stand alone enclosure for the hardware. this is too wide for my Prusa Mk3S so i'll have to figure out a split method for the two bezels first. stand rocks the panel back 10 degrees for easier viewing from a desk or whatever and uses the same holes that the inner and outerframes use for securin...

venice wrote: Sat Jul 30, 2022 2:43 pm Using the images from the tty2oled project should be possible, as they only need to be (on the fly) resized.
Perhaps with a similar function which is used for the tty2oled ScreenSaver.
The question is how they look afterwards.
good idea. once i get some documentation done and the case for non-cab install done i'll check into it.

I know this is too much to ask, but could you make a video about how to make it? i mean, for donkeys as me. It could be showing how to program it, how to install it and showing the power source you use. thanks I appreciate that. yeah its meant as a marquee for a bar top unit im building. and I've been telling myself that for over a year now so I think I might have to, at the very least build an enclosure for the current hardware so I have an easier time of displaying the gifs in real life. Looks really nice :) How many Pixels do you have in total? And what is the size of the panel? thanks! this is two 64x32 P2.5 (leds are 2.5mm apart) panels from aliexpress combined into 128x32 with 4096 pixels. ordering HUB75 panels from aliexpress can be a crap shoot since you never know what exact panel driver you're going to get but I was happy ...

here's video of current status of my rgb version. this runs on the non-usb mode of the current code base that just receives the core name on the serial line. I need to adjust some things still but you get the idea.

Did you check your list vs. the Arcade organizer script?
