@Stinky The floppy write change never made it into the public release, did it?

It did and works well enough.

This core is really great now, since the floppy write fix it seems complete and I really rate the 4am replay images. Many thanks to all contributors!

Problem with Keyrah is that one of the lines on port 2 is shared with port 1, so you can end up with crossover in less-than-ideal circumstances.

I wouldn't use one as a joystick interface on Mister, there are much better solutions. However for a keyboard it's hard to beat, as OP asked.

I've had a keyrah for years, not sure if they're still made but it sure is cool.

It would be better to have a global accelerator setting, like mouse_throttle but the other way.

Are you sure you have the latest release 20231208? There were NTSC issues prior to this release which were ironed out.

I reported a reproducible issue loading since the last release, which consistently work in the earlier release. If you have some examples it might be worth reporting them in github.

I can see that as well, a subtle bug almost like an echo after the register has been tickled. Still that's pretty far out edge case if that's all that's left I wouldn't call this incomplete implementation. Try reporting it on the github repo for a productive outcome.

for how great and accurate Higan and bsnes supposedly were, I was never able to get smooth performance out of either of them.

That seems to be a common misunderstanding of these emulators which may be deterministically accurate but that does not guarantee they will have accurate latency or performance.

There's pretty much nothing you can do in FPGA that you can't do in software, except efficient mass-scale parallelization Most of the cores you find in FPGA are adapted from software implementations (MAME, et al) and largely inherit the same limitations and implementation shortcomings as their software brethren Any of the things that lead to highe...

With blending on or off, watch the title screen as the waterfalls pass behind the logo on Sonic 1. While they are partially obscured, they are unblended...and once they are fully visible, they 'snap' to being blended... even if blending is disabled . That's freaking bizarre. I'm pretty sure that's just how the game is, it's the same on the other c...

The Genesis RBF is still in the distribution repo. You sure you don't have a names.txt that is causing 'Genesis' to show up as "Mega Drive"?

Re: No Display Via VGA very confused

I think ypbpr= is deprecated, try for component:
vga_mode=ypbpr ; supported modes: rgb, ypbpr, svideo, cvbs. rgb is default
composite_sync=1 ; set to 1 for composite sync on HSync signal of VGA output.
vga_scaler=0 ; set to 1 to connect VGA to scaler output.

For VGA:
vga_mode=rgb
composite_sync=0
vga_scaler=1

I keep my library and config backups on a USB drive formatted as EXT4, it is mounted by default as rw,nodev,noexec,noatime,nodiratime,sync. I think that is sufficient for a USB thumb drive, noting that there isn't a lot of churn on any volume in MiSTer as say a desktop PC drive would have.
