Now why isn't something like that an option in the menu-core ? I vote for a reset core config :D

Ms. Pac-Man Oddities

I have some oddities playing Ms. Pac-Man and I can't remember if the cabinet I played on had those too. Its just been too long ago. Colors are sometimes off where the first level is blue/red instead of pink, this corrects itself after completing the first field. Ghosts sometimes run through me without hit detection. Nice bug, but I still think its ...

I don't understand the ask. You want to know how many players an arcade game supports?
Arcade organizer organizes the mras and one of the categories that are available is "players".

Feature request: number of players list integration

I saw an arcade list here which contains the number of players for mame/arcade games.
https://nplayers.arcadebelgium.be/

Could something like this be integrated, so we can see the amount of players up front ?

rename _cores directory to _cores.bak
run update_all

This should reinstall all cores and update the database.

Code: Select all

cd /media/fat
tar -xvzf vMac.tar.gz
ln -s /media/fat/BasiliskII/arm-linux-gnueabihf/ /media/fat/vMac/arm-linux-gnueabihf

You can ditch the the first line and unpack directly into a destination folder with -C eg:

Code: Select all

tar -xvzf vMac.tar.gz -C /media/fat

Re: MiSTer Downloader Tool

Were these files installed manually, or with the older 2021 updater? In that case, they aren't tracked so they won't be detected. Considering my joining date here, maybe. I did not build the first card myself, it came with the MR, and I did do a copy of all data iirc when moving to a bigger card then after running the update_all. So that could be ...

New card works fine, it seems some files were missing and not detecedt as missing.

Thanks guys, the problem is solved on my end. I'll notify @theypsilon to rule out if this a one-time incident or something else.

It's not very humble for me to say this, but I think people now realize that the updating process is much more stable now than it used to be a couple of years ago.

I found an small issue you might find interesting. It seems some files were missing and not detected by the script as missing. If you want I can ZIP up the old directories

Re: Unusual Issues With Controllers Wired/Wireless

NES, SNES, GENESIS, N64 would be connected via snac or daemonbyte.. Afaik they only work in the "game core" as a normal controller would. Wireless is a whole other ballpark. Pair the controller via BT/2.4g Define the "menu core" keys to your liking. Define the keys in the game core. Its not like another controller picks up every...

No all run fine for me Thanks. no issues. works on both my misters (single and dual ram). Did you check you RAM? Its stable at 147mhz after 1hr, I tested it a few days ago if Alpha / Zero works for him i doubt it's a RAM issue, maybe bad sector(s) on the SD card? I suspect two things, one bit-rot as you suggested. The other my MR wasnt updated in ...

Anyone Else Having Issues With Street Fighter II? [Solved]

I'm having some issues with all the Street Fighter II cores. None of them work. They all pass the test and then .... nothing. Either its stuck or it produces a garbled screen. Just curious if I'm doing something wrong.

The Zero and Alpha's seem to work fine, SFII just does not.

Re: Neo Geo CPU Overclocking?

Things did come of it, this is just Metal Slug 2 Turbo, you can look up the hack. It isn't as much slowdown reduction as overclocking a real neo geo, but it's an improvement. It just removes code that makes it drop 2 frames instead of 1 frame, basically fixes a design flaw in the original game. I was under the impression that was a patched mslug2 ...

I searched what you wrote, Vampier's website, but I couldn't' find it. Would you be able to give me a stronger pointer in that direction, please?

Now copy that N64 directory onto your old card and it should still work. Some games just wont work yet if they have tlb in them

There might be more underlying problems with that card. They may not be noticed until later on.

It all depends on His HW setup

I am running a v2.9 ram that clocks at 150 in the memtest so I have a very good ram chip

Also on v2.9 and mine run stable at 147 in memtest after a couple of hours, and no issues here

All ROMS are from the same reliable source and work in an emulator. That just means that emulator likes those roms. There are standards out there like 'redump' and 'No-Intro'. I do get "auto-detect failed" for every game I open, even the ones that work fine. Well there is your hint mate. Your roms are not recognized and therefore not con...

Better take the loss and re-download because you will never get 100% identical binaries and I think recreating the cue-sheets will prove to be a real problem. (although maybe someone here could package them up for you, that would really improve your odds, but that would still be a lot of manual labor  )
