M30 with an USB adapter will have problems with the USB hub but the M30 genesis controller adapter version with a Genesis Daemonbite adapter it works perfectly.

Re: Recommendations for reliable wireless joypad

I want to try the db9 version of the m30 on the MiSTer, but it seems that it’s not compatible with the 2600-daptor d9 I just got. I am using the db9 version with my daemonbite adapter and it works perfectly. I love the setup as it works with the OG controllers and atari joystick. Isn't the daptor more geared towards Atari controllers allowing for ...

Re: Recommendations for reliable wireless joypad

Hello, First off, I know this isn't a good solution. And I'll eventually get around to wiring up my original SNES and NES controllers to connect directly. But in the meantime I just want controls working. I figure this is something others here would have experience with. So far I can only get a Genesis USB clone-controller working reliably. Anythi...

A cool idea is since this is being saved, we can potentially upload the high scores with the core version and rom hash to a website and potentially have a global or regional highscores, that can be downloaded like the cheats.

Re: Front end swap?

You can have a Linux UI frontend that loads the core then closes its self out, but you still need the OSD as is and simple. You would also need to either use the OSD to switch games or reload the UI again. Retroarch is coming to the DE-10 nano just you could port the retroarch UI code to be able to launch cores and there you would have it. Just don...

Re: What is the best option for a low latency arcade stick?

If you are making or want to make a custom stick you can go with Daemonbite, keep in mind it won't really work with consoles so this will be a PC / MiSTer stick if you go that route. That being said I made a Daemonbite Stick with a real working coin mech and I am happy with it. Daemonbite is also the cheaper solution both DIY and prebuilt.

There may be some interest, you should talk to porkchop / mister addons, he has a storefront and will be selling JAMMA IO boards this would make a nice bundle. Is any of the controller software open source so it can be integrated into the project? https://twitter.com/MisterAddons

Most consumer scalers see 240p as 480i and will be laggy, at best it would be consistent lag at worst the dreaded variable lag. You are better off just getting the new S-Video / composite adapter https://misterbits.fwscart.com/product_ ... 14892.aspx

Funny thing if I rotate my component TV the colors are all off.
Obviously it sounds like a joke, but have you tried turning it off and on again (while it's rotated)?

Yeah, I'm running a 400GB SD when my original plan was 128GB SD + 256GB USB for the future, if we can find/fix these issues with the Switch to USB it'll be for the greater good... Well 256GB cards are too cheap it is the best price to size ratio but you can get a 400GB SD for about 45 - $50. The prices are coming down to the point where in another...

I documented how I got things working on this thread (which I can see you asked about - feel free to PM me if you want to chat ...

Just a reminder there are windows drivers for some linux file systems, BtrFS being the latest. Given MiSTer supports FTP and SMB network filesystems, maybe a pure BtrFS / squashFS could make for a better default. Windows users just need to install the drivers so they aren't locked out of accessing the SD card directly. Here is the BtrFS for windows...

Is this only happening when the screen is very bright ? I think it is when there is a quick flash of white so yes I think. The fireworks flash when they explode so it reliably triggers the screen to roll. Maybe it is moving from black to white quickly? I don't know. Re: direct Mega Drive direct connection to GPIO (eg. M30 2.4ghz)?

The SNAC is connected to the core like the actual console and each pin is like a pin on the controller port. It also means it can't interact with the OSD because it isn't going through MiSTer's input system. Now if you want to use original controllers what I found is to use the USB Daemonbite adapter I made one myself with an arduino pro micro and ...

Old LCDs are horrible, Don't do that at all get a VGA CRT or a more modern display that is 1440p and supports the 1920 x 1440p resolution as that is the highest resolution that has the most integer scales of all the cores.

So I've used it previously... Shouldn't be any issues with the setup as it's always worked fine. Sd card seems like it's seated perfectly. Would that not cause it to power up though??? Yes it would, it wouldn't load anything and would sit like a brick without the SD card. So remove it and put it back for good measure. This has happened to me a bun...

Cable differences and problems with ocational screen rolling over YPbPr

So I originally got a cheap vga to RCA adapter breakout and set everything up. Everything is fine but when things get bright or flash I get screen rolling this is apparent on the winning screens on KoF 98, or the fireworks demo for the NES or Pokemon yellow when you go between rooms. It is brief but noticeable but doesn't hinder gameplay, the firew...

I played through Cadillacs and Dinosaurs and it was fine and beatable the only problem was on the last boss fight when the boss was hit with a special move or a bazooka the game would slow down and I would see a sprite sheet super imposed on the right half of the screen. No it is fast enough for no latency controllers but not fast enough for light guns, you really need the snac for that. As far as I know these are strictly for controllers. Except for Mr Spinner and that is for spinners.

nop, it doesn't work for me, I tried all the combinations but after an hard reset the joypad is always stuck, I also tried with the usbc cable but that simply doesn't work, the leds keep sliding back and forth forever. The only viable solution for me are soft resets (changing cores on the fly) or simply using a ps4 joypad (but I usually cannot) :/...
