Re: VTech CreatiVision
I think what you meant to call it was "Dick Smith Wizzard". It's a quirky little platform that is mostly off the shelf parts, but it had a library and basic interpreter and a really unusual keyboard/controller setup. I'm glad you're enjoying it :) I really am - do you have a Pateron or Buy Me A Coffee link pls ? I don't take any money fo...

Re: SNES Controller Option?
I don't think this is really an appropriate addition. None of the major emulators have this feature, the real hardware obviously doesn't natively have ports that fit snes controllers, and I think it introduces a slippery slope for peripherals, as technically you can read from 4016 forever if you want and use anything with any early-nintendo compati...

Re: Possible Sound Quality Improvement?
This isn't realistic to the hardware design or timing of the system, and it would just sound like a poorly made clone or emulator of the system, as the many eccentricities of the sound chip were used heavily by developers of the era both in the music and in creating the many sound effects of games. It's actually pretty remiss for the person who mad...

Re: Atari 7800 / 2600
Woo hoo, this is great!!! This is the first time I have successfully played an Atari 2600 game on MiSTer with paddles (via D9)! The action is a bit jittery but my paddles are 40 years old so the potentiometers need some TLC, or replacement. Big thanks to kitrinx for the code upgrade, mister240p for the paddle mappings, and thorr for the config ins...

Re: Atari 7800 / 2600
Wait, what? The (real) driving controller (on a D9) works too? Although the paddle controllers work great through a d9, the driving controller did not. Setting the Peripheral to Driving in Indy 500 did not change anything. Anyone had success? I wish I could find a good spinner for not only Indy 500 but the other spinner games. Actually this was im...

Re: Atari 7800 / 2600
From the Readme: Over the years several Atari joystick to USB adapters have been created for 2600 and 7800 peripherals. Some of these do not split paddle operations into two distinct devices. For this scenario, a special option has been added in the periphal configuration section of the menu that allows multiple paddles to be on the same controlle...

Thank you for the core update! I am looking forward to trying it out. I was planning to make a new paddles adapter, but hopefully this is no longer necessary and will work with the d9 adapter. FYI - the Readme does not mention the keys for the keypad adapter in case you wanted to add those. There's actually three sets for the keypad controller iir...

You have access to create or fork repos in mister-devel if you'd like to put it there. It's better if you do it so you can manage changes to it.

Re: Super Mario Bros 256 Level Glitch
Besides being extremely inadvisable to hot swap carts, this is just an amateurish way of corrupting work ram. Just figure out what changes "tennis" is making to ram and where it's leaving the cpu state and you can create some patch to do the same thing much more elegantly.

Good afternoon, I have had my D10 for a little while, and the one game I would love to get working is Elite. It was available on many platforms but I cannot get any to work. The closest I can get it the NES - where I see it load and then a grey screen. Now I think I know this is down to headers, and I was told to download python 3 and sunshine scr...

Re: Vtech Creativision / Dick Smith Wizzard
Sorry for the late reply, but yes, it won't generate any syncs or blanks for an analog display until it loads a game. You can either use the laser 2001 bios which starts up basic by default, or use boot1.rom as some game so that loads by default. Either one will address the issue of no video signals present without a game loaded.

Re: Getting a near perfect aspect ration without shimmering (SNES and NES cores)
If you use the correct aspect ratio you will always get shimmering, even at 4k, though it'll be less pronounced the higher the resolution is. You have to use some amount of interpolation to get rid of shimmering, and it doesn't have to be a ton. The higher the resolution, the less interpolation you will have to use. You can use horizontal and verti...

-Also supports Laser 2001 computer
-Full cart library works
-This core requires a bios, read the readme for more information
-Cassette loading will be fancier in the future but for now there is a basic writer to enter in .bas files

supercharger draws at 30fps while it loads. I'm not sure what this was supposed to do with original tv's but that seems to be correct behavior for it.

Similarly to discord you can here quote people to, try to, get thire attention. I think I've proven here, on this forum, that I'm undeserving of a ban. As far as I remember you were banned for being abusive to the MT32 PI developer That's subjective. The core doesn't block any combination of buttons. It takes what the framework gives it and dutifully encodes it just like the real hardware.

@puu Thank you for some updated code. I will at some point attempt to add clock enables to it like the rest of the code from the mister project, so that it can be merged upstream. Re: MiSTerNet
A realistic approach would be to have an encoder, or offload to an encoder, and handle this video streaming style. The second player would be at a disadvantage of course, but it would enable some kind of netplay that way. Just feed back some virtual controllers. The de10 doesn't really have the resources needed to access and encode the framebuffer ...

Re: MiSTerNet
The thing to reconcile is how you synchronize two cores that have multiple milliseconds of lag with each other, when the two cores are operating in real-time (unlike a software emu). eg, how do you keep the analog video signal from being disrupted? how do you write the the ram fast enough to prevent the game from stuttering terribly?

Re: Atari 7800 / 2600
with the ADC paddles the problem you will run into is that the ADC bus can't be driven by two separate modules which is what is required. After that you can simply rescale the range to be 0-255 since the only two things using those analog lines are the 7800 controllers and the paddles, it's safe to this, and the 7800 buttons are boolean in nature. ...

Re: Atari 7800 / 2600
Paddles are complicated. Two paddles being one controller simply doesn't work. I know this is how the original console did it, but it really doesn't matter. It doesn't make sense in the context of the mister framework. There are many different devices that can be mixed together as paddles on mister, and not all of them are even associated with a jo...
