Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

No stress. If you find some time you could check it. For now i'll try some of your linked games. Generally for game pads: I think OpenBor is confused by similar designed pads. I have different controllers from 8bitdo like the M30, Pro/Pro2/ Neo Geo etc (mostly Xbox 360 controller classes). OpenBor loads fine with all plugged in. But the controller ...

Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

Must be a SD card space issue, right?

Any other hint why i can't load OpenBor via external SSD? I doesn't seem to be a case sensitive matter. I've copied the whole OperBOR folder to the SSD, changed the path to SSD and then started via OpenBor.sh script from SD card.

Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

Just tried Crisis Evil RE 2. But the game quits to MiSTer menu shortly after the loading screen. Is this a space/ game unpacking issue? I have only 770MB left on my SD card (external SSD load won't work somehow).

Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

This doesn't help i'm afraid. Still waiting on the "Setting Video Mode.. Press any key to continue" screen, and then it quits back to the MiSTer start menu.
Will check later if i didn't something wrong.

The file system is Exfat.

Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

Thanks for the suggestion. Will try it later.

Another question: What is the correct path if i want to start OpenBor from my external SSD, which is Device usb0? Is this possible? It doesnt start (no error).

OPENBOR_HOME_DIR="/media/usb0/OpenBOR"

Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

No, i didn't change anything at all. But i'm fine with the video output. The 4K Tink takes it as 1920x1080p as default input. But you can correct the aspect, set the prescale to 4x and trim top/bottom. Then you get a 1280x240 output. Which looks perfectly fine on my OLED. The CRT filter+mask is properly aligned. As you can see here: https://i.posti...

Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

Will try a real CRT later. But it looks nice on a big OLED too, with CRT filter enabled (and vertical prescale for the proper look).

edit: Argh, you can't enlarge the attached picture to original size for viewing. Shame, looks great live on the TV.

Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

I've unpacked your folder, copied "A Tale of Vengeance" to the paks folder and i could see errors for a split seconds at the start, it's loads a bit further to a picture (dont' know if it's from the game or something) with a "ALEXDCZZ" font. Then the MiSTer freezes, have to press reset. Here's the log file, but it doesn't show a...

Mmh, i've used this script.

Installs a lot, but i still get the same error. Do i need to install more from ScummVM?

edit: ScummVM itself works fine. Just tested Sam & Max.

Re: OpenBOR for MiSTer

Nice port. Just tried it, but i get this error after starting via OpenBOR.sh. Any clue why this happens? Seems properly installed. Copied a very old PAK from 2008 (A Tale of Vengeance) into the "paks" folder. edit: OK, tried a few other game .paks, but no joy. The OpenBOR frontend loads fine when the "paks" folder is empty. Can ...

Re: What Are the Reasons to Own a MiSTer Without a CRT?

I also find it amusing that some here buy the Mister, bang on about accuracy, and low lag, then go and buy a stupid LCD monitor with it's own lag, and a tech that was never meant for these old games Even the "stupiest" LCD monitors have Freensync support now (they are dirt cheap these days, get one i.e. from LG). With VRR enabled (which ...

I noticed that the normal "Alien Breed" WHDLoad version is missing. This one has proper patched CD32 controls and cheats. Only the SE seem to be there, and the Story disk.

Re: 8BitDo M30 2.4g button mapping is off after March 23rd update

Do you mean the version for the Mega Drvie Mini, with an USB Dongle? This one works fine, i use the white Edition without any issues. Have you tried to delete the Saturn Core config files (in the media/fat/config/ folder) and start to configure again? You could also try the latest beta core from 09.04.2024, which has a lot of improvements. It's the...

Re: Black Screen Blues

I agree. For Arcade games in proper native speed it's mandatory to have a Gsync/Freesync capable monitor/TV. Forcing the games to 60Hz isn't fun at times (e.g for 55-57Hz games), it's too fast.

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

I tested some games with issues and the small audio cracking when a track starts is still present but it seems better then before.

This was fixed with a MiSTer unstable release some days/weeks ago. Most recent sound issue is distortion in some games (mostly sfx). Introduced since the volume increase fix some core releases ago.

32 seconds sync loss? This isn't normal for sure. Same happens via DisplayPort connection? The included monitor cables are mostly shitty. Have you tried better ones?
