Re: Neo Geo CPU Overclocking?

So the option if added will result in many people complaining the core has corrupt graphics, simply beacause they dont understand the overclock option. This is why its a bad idea. what source/data/stats support that word that i've highlighted there? OC option can be simply named "Unstable Overclocking (may corrupt graphics, use at own risk) :...

Re: Neo Geo CPU Overclocking?

You don't see the debate in on another thread. For an unknown reason there is some purist that don't want it. Even telling them this is an option that can be disable is too much for them apparently. it's worse than that it would be an OPTION .... that you CAN ... optionally ... ENABLE ...when you want it i dunno, if someone has an actual argument ...

Re: Best Wired USB Sega Saturn Controller Clone and Other Controller Options

The M30 is great, but it lacks the real Saturn shoulder buttons. The M30 shoulder buttons are cloned C & Z buttons iirc. so it depends on the mode, i discovered recently that the m30 has 3 different modes in which buttons do different things, xinput uses xbox mappings equivalents but Dinput has individual buttons, switch might too i haven't te...

Delete boot.rom. ah i found that there's a boot.rom in the GAMES folder too , i had seen one in a BIOS/Saturn folder for some reason and just touched that one! obviously i put the one in the Games folder but that was a long time ago so i forgot, i even kinda assume that the other one is not even used nowadays even ? deleted it and everything still...

It stays with a black screen, but you can enter the menu now and fumble your way to get something to load. nope i can't , i see that resolution changes but menu doesn't appear from controller shortcut, or directly from mister button :? [EDIT] updating Mister to latest unstable did nothing, saturn core from june 8th runs, latest one doesn't, i have...

i'm pretty torn between 8bitdo's M30 and retrobit's Saturn , problem is i do NOT want to invest in a USB microB device ever anymore ( i've retrofitted my DualShock4 to typeC even :P ) but there is hope: RetroBit was supposed to release a Saturn-themed "pro" controller that includes 2 mini joysticks : wene15x5f0u91.jpg looks pretty noice b...

wow i actually didn't know that they all were ported to PC but looks like they are indeed!

but well, even outside of the big nintendo franchises etc N64 has the Goemon games, Conker's bad fur day ( if you can't have the xbox remake) Wetrix, ExtremeG, Aero Gauge, some gems here and there :)

Re: Well Nobody Saw This Coming! Nintendo 64 Core Announced

Let's be real, when people say they like the N64, it's for: The Nintendo published games, the RARE published games, the Konami published games, the Hudson published games and the Midway published games. You'll only find a handful of titles worth playing outside of these 5 publishers that you can't find on other systems of the time like PS1, Saturn...

Re: Discussion and Development of a 'MiSTer 2.0' Modular Hardware Platform

i don't think video would be as low-latency if the RPI has to fetch it back through the memory interface and buffer it into it's own display system tho, that sounds like a bit of a thing to overcome
plus i suppose that hat should have a VGA-type analog output of it's own too

Re: Discussion and Development of a 'MiSTer 2.0' Modular Hardware Platform

however it's handheld and cheaper so I can understand why some people get excited I guess it's literally the one FPGA handheld so yes, excited people would be :P The SNES core in many ways would be more demanding than most cores, so at minimum it should be a roughly equivalent FPGA to the current one used in the DE10-Nano. the DE10 handles Saturn ...

Re: Discussion and Development of a 'MiSTer 2.0' Modular Hardware Platform

i think the community has to be driven with a very tangible incentive: porting to the Analogue Pocket? obviously desirable given the hardware porting to another random "alternative" FPGA ? if it's HALF the price of a DE10 and can do 16-bits generation i can see that happening, otherwise, the whole porting effort sounds kinda futile ? port...

Re: So Robert Peip (FPGAzumSpass) Is Working on a New Core...

Actually the N64 was pretty powerful, the problem was for cost reasons Nintendo saved on ram (a mistake they admitted later) they had to save on it because they insisted on RAMBUS ram, which was 4xmore expensive than SDRAM, had high licence fee ( though nintendo probably cut a deal on that, i would hope... ) limiting the amount nintendo put in the...

Re: N64 Core Possibility? (Update! Robert Is Working On This Core!)

it's not about power, it's about the size of the chip itself, some can contain more gates than other, so there ARE bigger dev boards, but they are more expensive, you could spend 12k for some of them babies, we would totally port mister to them but who would buy them? so the MiSTer project might move on to a better FPGA dev board, one day, if neces...

he's been saying "It's a low level emulator i write to learn about the system, so i can implement it for the FPGA. But it will be completly different code."

we're still in such an early stage that the FPGA isn't yet attempting to run it at all, , if not on the DE10 it could run on a larger FPGA though maybe?

Re: Hiding Cores in Which I Am Not Interessted In?

Yeah we're all using the easy update scripts but I doubt we're all interested in all the cores. A list of cores to hide in the mister.ini file would be my vote, or a seperate hidden.ini that goes in the downloader.ini , as described in this link: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Downloader_MiSTer/blob/main/docs/download-filters.md for example, such...

I would also like Retroflag to write out cases for MiSTer in the form of classic NES SNES SEGA consoles because there is not a single normal case in the form of a console on the market. Multisystem? jammix? ironclad? regarding MiSTer, being hardware-based you actually have to fight your instinct of thinking in terms of "CPU power" or suc...
