Re: So Robert Peip (FPGAzumSpass) Is Working on a New Core...

His update sounds very, very optimistic.

Sounds like he has some ideas on how to work around certain previously thought to be hard limitations.

Even thinks he'll get a playable homebrew version sometime this summer.

Can't wait to see how this unfolds.

Re: Save State Support

There's two real scenarios that people want out of the MiSTer : absolutely authentic recreation of the original experience. Save States have no place here. as-quick-as-possible-arrival to #1, accelerated by Save States. I'd argue that save states don't affect people's ability to have a truly authentic recreation - it would be like arguing against ...

Re: MiSTer Games Menu - Launch Games from the MiSTer Menu

Question - How do you get rid of the games menu after running the script? I ran the script, toggled a few cores, played around with it, then decided to remove it for now. When I un-toggle all the cores and try to generate the menu, it just reboots and makes no changes. I can toggle and generate any combo of cores I want, but if I toggle none of the...

Possible to Hide Cores from List?

Is it possible to hide cores from the main Mister lists? I don't really care to delete them (because they'll just come back when I update) and I don't mind if they get updated in the background along with everything else - I'd just like to hide them from sight. For example, the only computer core I have any roms for is the AO486, so I don't really ...

Re: MiSTer Favorites - Menu Shortcuts for Your Cores and Games

wizzo - I'm not sure if you knew this but I just figured this out from help with another thread. The symbolic link needs to have the extension as part of the name. Within /media/fat/games/NES I was creating links to files with names like "DuckTales" that was pointing to the "Ducktales.nes" file and it never showed up on the mist...

Re: Possible to Create Links to ROMs?

Okay, I found the problem. The link name itself NEEDS to have the extension on it. I wasn't doing that. I was naming my link "DuckTales" rather than "Ducktales.nes". Without the extension, it doesn't show on the menu. With the extension, it does (and works). I had never considered that until you posted your screenshot @jca. Than...

Re: MiSTer Favorites - Menu Shortcuts for Your Cores and Games

Is there any way of using your script (or any other method you know of?) to create a favorites folder WITHIN a core rather than at the top level mister menu?

For my own organization and display preferences, I'd love to only see favorites once I load the desired core.

Is that even possible?

Re: Possible to Create Links to ROMs?

Hmm...

I did actually try to create links to the ROMs using Winscp, but the links wouldn't show up in the menu. It was like there wasn't anything there.

Possible to Create Links to ROMs?

I just got the MiSTer setup and it's working great, and was hoping to create "curated" folders that link to roms within each core. Very much like how the arcade roms have organizations built in. I know there is a favorites script but the script puts the favorites on the main mister menu rather than within the cores themselves. For example...
