Re: Screen Tearing on top of the Screen for Chippoke Ralph no Daibōken

A 720p source on LG C2 models with "Boost" mode (lower input lag) enabled results in screen tearing at the top of the screen. It only happens when using 720p resolution. I see, good to know! I recall from a My Life in Gaming video that also the C2 model had terrible input lag in 4:3. I hope the newer models don't have those problems! In ...

This happens on real hardware as well on this game

Thank you for the clarification !

Makes sense a lot of old games would have screen tearing.

Yes, that's true, I was so confused because for the 8-16 bit's systems I didn't encounter that obvious screen tearing, but an early 3D system as PSX is different...

Screen Tearing on top of the Screen for Chippoke Ralph no Daibōken

Hello, So I was playing Chippoke Ralph no Daibōken (The Adventure of Little Ralph) and I noticed that on the top of the screen there seems to be some screen tearing (or artefacts) on top of the screen. I'm using an LG C1 OLED. I tried the game with different vsync_adjust options (0, 1 and 2) and with VRR on and off (my TV recognizes VRR) but there'...

Re: Dual SDRAM Version Still Available?

No the dual ram is needed to allow this option. Without it it just doesnt work. So 2 cores are required Maybe I haven't explained myself well. I know that for it to work, it's necessary to have double SDRAM :) but my comment is because I don't think that restriction is necessary to allow the selector (along with a note saying "if you don't ha...

Re: Dual SDRAM Version Still Available?

Related with this... Is there a reason why single ram and dual ram cores for PSX are not combined? I mean, in dual ram you have the option of selecting the SPU Ram whereas in the single ram that option is grey out and can't be changed: https://mister-devel.github.io/MkDocs_MiSTer/cores/highlights/psx/#spu-ram-select I'm sure there's a reason for th...

Re: Correct Speed for Auto Fire?

For the most accurate speed, you can use the Turbopad emulation for this specific core. In the core menu under "Hardware", look for the setting "Controller" and select "2 Turbo". Then turbo fire is provided by the buttons that you have mapped according to the following scheme: I, II (normal), III, IV (turbo 1 level), ...

Correct Speed for Auto Fire?

Hello,

I'm wondering if someone knows which should be the proper speeds for the auto fire button in order to match the original controllers. I've been trying to find it but couldn't.

Someone knows it?

Thanks!

Re: Neo Geo CD Core

I'm having a problem with this core... I have the games/NeoGeo-CD folder with my CD's and the games/NEOGEO folder with the roms, but when I open the games/NeoGeo-CD folder I don't see any game (they are there in CHD format). When this was an independent core, those CHD worked fine. Am I missing something? Edit (with extra information): Seems the co...

Just realized it's already sold out and only available for double price :( Yeah, Nintendo is producing very few units. Re: Nintendo 64 Switch controller support?

Joycons work with MiSTer so assuming its the same bluetooth protocol, it should work too. I haven't tried via bluetooth but later I will and report how well that works! It has a USB-C, can that be used to connect it like with a PS5 pad or only for loading? As far as I know the usb-c is also for connecting because you can connect the controller via...

Re: Music glitch in Final Fantasy VII?

It's my bad... It's stupid because I have two US versions of FFVII: the official and one patched (from the Retranslation project https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index. ... ic=19709.0). The official doesn't have the bug so it's just a bug of that retranslation patch. I'll report there the bug.

Sorry for my mistake!

Re: Music glitch in Final Fantasy VII?

I've played a lot of FFVII in my time, and I don't remember that being a thing in the basement. You may have already done this, but it would be a good idea to verify that you have known-good copies of the discs and the PSX bios files. Compare checksums if possible so you can be certain. After that, I would look at all the core settings to see if a...

Music glitch in Final Fantasy VII?

Hi! So I was playing FFVII and when I got to Nibelheim (not the flashback but when you return there in CD1) the battle music in the basement of the mansion was weirdly off, it's mainly a high pitch sound. I can't remember if this happens with original hardware or not. The basement music is different than in the rest of the mansion that for sure and...

PSX core? you are in the Saturn thread my friend. They're asking if the Saturn core works like the PSX one does wrg to bios. (I don't know the answer) That was the question, yes :D

Re: Is It Posible to Split Discography Between SD and HDD?

That works! And no, the update doesn’t screw with your custom MGLs :) Another solution is to add a symlink to the folder where you have other roms. The only detail to take into account is that you should make the symlink inside the PSX (or whatever core name) folder with the relative path to the other media folder. If not, the MiSTer won't show tho...

Is It Posible to Split Discography Between SD and HDD?

Hello, So coming from this post I was trying to split my PSX roms into two sets: one in the SD card and another in and HDD. My idea was to put inside the SD card those games that I can notice to have stutter due to the latency of an HDD and keep the rest of roms in an external HDD. The idea was good... But I encounter a problem. Seems that you are ...

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core

If you're slow reading from disk, try using CHD images...the compression reduces transfer time, which may help. According to @FPGAzumSpass for the latency of the USB is better to use cue/bin, is a problem of latency more that transfer times (probably everything that we connect to the MISTer is going to be faster than a PSX CD reader). I have done ...

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core

Thank you for the clarification, @FPGAzumSpass. Didn't think about the usb port lag! That makes a lot of sense. Just wondering if the usb purge script could help with this issue? I'll do some testing using cue bin (I have my whole CD library in CHD :? ), also using NTFS and the secondary SD port too. Unfortunately soon I'll be out from my place and...

The DE-10 Nano is USB 2.0 so your HDD won't be faster than that. It should be faster than the PS1 CD.

That was my intuition that the CD reader of a PSX is slower. Any suggestion? I know that some HDD stops after some time without using and I used your solution for keeping it always on.

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core

Thanks @FPGAzumSpass! I have checked and it seems that with the setting off I don't get that stutter. I'm using a 2Tb external HDD but it's usb 3.0 it should be fast enough, right? Faster than a CD in the PSX... It's formatted to exfat, not sure if there's a better format.

Any suggestion? Thanks!

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core

Hi, I have noticed some audio micro stutters in some Squaresoft rpgs. For instance FFVII, VIII and IX, during a battle or just before the battle (I guess is when is reading the CD). I don't remember if this also happens with original hardware (maybe it was) but I have seen this problems with some emulators.
