i bought extra screen protectors that i dont think ill use. Im located in the states but would consider shipping if buyer paid.

It might be worth parting everything out and see if the controllers are actually different. then at least when you get your good screens you can put the best controller and housing with the best screen.

ipad 3 / 4 screens will work with these controllers. ipad mini 2 screens will too but require an uncommon adapter flex cable If I were to put it together myself, would you recommend any changes, or build it with the same components as the aliexpress seller? (just curious if you guys have a better solution for the speakers, they are so very quiet) ...

That's so unfortunate. The first one I had was also the VGA one and it did have less bleeding issues, but still more than what I was hoping for. You can always try to acquire your own screens from locked/broken ipads and buy just the controller board. This way you have a bit more quality control.

The one with the lighting is the one to use for thunderbold screen share. Also works for power though.

I found that both ports will work providing power and display when connecting usb-c to a PC, it doesnt need to be in the port with the lightning bolt.

Its a cool idea and fun tech but I never understand the desire for a physical thing. I like the modern era with not having to find the floppy, I could see using it to feature the MiSTer experience to someone who is uninitiated, or might not understand or might be intimidated by the menu system. For example, a game room with some popular game boxes...

Is it safe to chain two level shifters? I ask because the Multisystem user port claims to have a built-in level shifter according to its manual, and I ordered a SNAC adapter from UltimateMister which apparently also has one. I haven't received it yet, but I'm still confused on how all that will interact. You can disable the onboard level shifters....

We like this one because it's readily available (iPad screen) and cheap, plus has a very high PPI and resolution with low latency, especially for it's size. Does anyone have experience with the touch screen version? I'd be nervous about applying a screen protector to a bare LCD screen but maybe having a touch digitizer installed would protect it m...

You'd need to identify the BT device's pid/vid and blacklist it via udev rule.
