Re: Dead of the Brain mouse support

Retro-Nerd wrote: Sun Nov 19, 2023 10:27 pm

Dead of the Brain doesn't have PC-Engine mouse support. So, this won't work. Unless somebody would do a mouse patch for the game.

Thanks !
I should not have assumed it was and should have checked some compatbility list first.

Dead of the Brain mouse support

Hey all, Has somebody been able to get a USB mouse to work with the recently released translation of this game ? Having a standard USB mouse plugged in and enabling "mouse" under "special" causes the pointer to permanently scroll to the upper right corner of the screen. I am wondering if there is a trick I have missed to properl...

I wouldn't reccomend interfacing with scripts over a CRT. Many don't work with one.

Re: Cannot Load .chd with CDZ Setting

Remember that Unibios was derived from MVS orignally. Unlike MVS/AES carts that had every supported region's assets and code in a single module, NGCD is regional - discs were intended for Japan, World or Export (Europe), and had ONLY the assets/content for that region (though many supported at least two languages, with a handful supporting many mo...

Re: Cannot Load .chd with CDZ Setting

Check that you have the original CDZ bios (neocd.bin) and/or the Universe Bios (uni-bioscd.rom) in the games folder, with the corresponding BIOS option (Original or UniBIOS) set in the core menu. Well this worked for me ! Thanks ! All I did was add the uni-bioscd.rom file in the Neo Geo games folder. I now have 4x speed loading and access to Unibi...

Cannot Load .chd with CDZ Setting

I am a little puzzled on what is causing this issue. Could I be using .chd that the CDZ setting does not like ?
Same set of .chd load just fine if I have my settings as CD and 1x speed. Black screen with CDZ setting and any speed.

Thanks for your help :)

Re: MiSTer Extensions - Remote

Do not make the "refresh index" an option from a dropdown menu and make it a direct button instead. There is not other option in there so it feels pointless to have to open a dropdown menu to only find a single option in there. It's interesting that you say this. Do you find yourself using this button a lot? I guess my intention was that...

Is it possible to switch MiSTer.ini and MiSTer_alt.ini with "Reset / OSD / User" buttons?

I use CRT and LCD TV and need to switch between settings using Mister buttons! 8-)

Switching .ini files can now also be achieved using the "Remote" Extension by @wizzo.

Hi @wizzo ! I'm back with a couple of enhancement suggestions, they are all to be considered as nice to have in my opinion so treat them accordingly. Display information of what version of the Extension is currently happening, think of it as an "about" menu. This would allow users to confirm at a glance which version of the Extension they...

Re: MiSTer Extensions - Remote

Glad to hear it's working well for you! I've looked into this quite a bit in the past, because I need similar functionality for other scripts, but at this stage I don't think I can make it so there's simply a scripts menu on the app which will launch them on the mister as it does using the menu. The issue is the point where when you launch a scrip...

Re: MiSTer Extensions - Remote

Yet another request for this great extension. Coudl we have a way to launch scripts from the remote UI in the same way a game can be looked up and started ? Typical use case would be for running update_all which is certainly part of most users routine, I can almost think of a dedicated button/shortcut for that script given how often it gets used. P...

That would definitely be easiest. I don't currently have a service to emulate a controller but I assume it's not too hard. If just having 4 buttons mapped to those hotkeys fits the bill for you then I can look at that first for sure Could you not use the "back" and different "directions" already in place for navigation with you...

Re: MiSTer Extensions - Remote

You're welcome! Glad you're enjoying it. I looked into this and it turned out to be kind of complicated. The mechanism on the backend that does the ini switch is difficult to access from my end, so I am waiting on some advice before I go any further. I like the idea for sure though and will see what I can do. Could having a button on the UI that w...

Love this extension, thanks for all the work @wizzo ! May I suggest you add a feature that would allow to switch between ini files ? Re: MiSTer Integer Custom Video Modes

Anyone interested in these custom modes (resolution = exact integer scale) should also look at the new vscale_mode options (4,5,6) labeled "resolution scaling". Like the name vaguely implies, these actually lower the output resolution enough to match some kind of integer scale. So if you use say Wonderswan on 1920x1440 mode and vscale_mo...
