I wondered if the amazing composite blend feature of the Mega Drive / Genesis core can be added to other cores?
The Master System is among my fave systems (and it was too empty in here), thus I will raise the question here for the Master System.

Re: Issues migrating roms to HDD
Make sure there's a a folder for Neo Geo on the root of your HDD. I don't think it's case sensitive but my folder is named "NeoGeo". The NeoGeo folder can be a subfolder of games (/games/NEOGEO) or can be directly in the root, but on NTFS it needs to be uppercase in any case. Maybe that is different on FAT32 or other file systems. In tha...

Re: Blank screen when I load the core
I've experience problems loading if you are using a inline barrel switch. Like this one in particular. https://www.ebay.com/itm/LED-Strips-In-Line-Power-Switch-ON-OFF-2-1mm-5-5mm-Cable-Jack-For-Arduino-Plug/264367671757?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 It drops the voltage on the unit and some cores just won't load, o...

Re: Issues migrating roms to HDD
I have not tried that, but I doubt you need them. On the SD Card the folder does not need to be uppercase, by the way (mine is "NeoGeo").

Re: Issues migrating roms to HDD
Loading off an exernal USB source behaves slightly different for whatever reason. Some folders need to be all uppercase, thus: In the root of your HDD you need a games-folder. Inside the games-folder you need to have folders NEOGEO and ATARI5200 (both uppercase) with the ROMs inside. Wait a couple of seconds after you plugged in the HDD so it is re...

Re: Issue with font in with Kick 1.3
Got it. When you set forced_scandoubler=1 then it happens without the Scandoubler FX being on. You need to set it to 0.

Re: Issue with font in with Kick 1.3
Already tried this with no luck. That's odd, I can replicate it exactly by setting Scandoubler FX to CRT 25% and on OFF I don't have that issue. Can you please post your MiSTer.ini? I am using the minimig core in version 20.05.05 with a config of 68000, OCS-A500, 512k Chip, 512k Slow, Cloanto amiga-os-134-workbench.adf, all on an IPS Panel via HDM...

I will jump on the bandwaggon: A big thanks to the devs! With this we can explore one of histories more rare and sought after consoles that sparked the import market. By the way, Retro Gamer (UK) Issue 172 (2017) has a nice title story about the PC Engine and 8bitdo is soon releasing 2.4GHz PC Engine gamepads: https://www.8bitdo.com/pce-2-4g/. I ha...

Re: Issue with font in with Kick 1.3
That is an issue with Scandoubler FX. Please go into OSD > "Audio & Video" and set "Scandoubler FX" to "Off.
It surely is a bug.

Re: "Bad contact between games" error
As Chris23235 said, there was a thread with the same issue on the old subforum on Atari-Forum and it was the RAM. Crystal, that you now have different (additional) issues after reseating the RAM leads to this conclusion, too. Same for Heuristics. Memtest was discussed there, too. If I remember right Memtest will show if a RAM is obviously faulty bu...

I want to kick off a thread collecting tutorial and books about Verilog and designing video game hardware in HDL. Here a few resources to get things rolling: Books: N. names.txt - Proper System Names in OSD
The names.txt file provides proper system names in the OSD of MiSTer FPGA. The file needs to go into the root of the main microSD ("/media/fat" from Linux side), the same place where MiSTer.ini and the MiSTer binary are located. When core date codes are disabled then the system names can have a maximum length of 28 characters before exten...
