That should work fine, especially if you are putting it into a custom case.

Re: SNES core hangs/freezes after leaving intro running for a couple hours

Micro SD cards have not ever proven to be reliable in the long term for an OS in my experience. I would pop it out and check it for errors if you can. Or maybe setup a spare card and test this there. Is your MiSTer cooled? Could it be overheating? That's half true. With Modern OS yes such as Windows 10/11, you don't want to run off a SD card. Olde...

Re: Safe to hotplug SNAC devices?

I'm wondering, is it safe to swap controllers into your SNAC connector (the level shifter thing) while your MiSTer is on? I'm guessing it is but does anyone know? It it safe to Hotswap controllers on the Snac while the MiSTer is on? Electrically I want to say yes, the majority of the time you should be fine. But I would exit out of the core first ...

Re: DC Extension Cable?

You should be okay as long as the Extension not too long. Yes the length of wire will drop voltage.
If you want to use a DC extension cord, the ones rated for CCTV Cameras work well for this purpose.

if you are worried, or if the DC extension don't work, you can try to use a extension cable from your outlet to your AC/DC converter instead.

Re: Does a Metal Enclosure Need to Be Grounded?

screwing the brass stand-offs into the metal of the case is often enough to get a ground connection going. Oh, maybe I should just skip the plexiglass then. Hard to say without knowing what enclosure you are using. You can always have a wire going from top of the brass stand off going to a spot on the metal case. There lot of places you can tap gr...

Re: Does a Metal Enclosure Need to Be Grounded?

It wouldn't be hard to ground the case. As there multiple places to tap onto ground, example screwing the brass stand-offs into the metal of the case is often enough to get a ground connection going. Grounding would also protect from any static discharge. If you are real nervous about it, having a wire going from the case to any of the many ground ...

I don't seem to have the same issue on my end. I tried X and X2 and I was able to jump and dash while still having the buster charged up. I wouldn't have any solutions on my end, but is it possible that it has to do with the controller being in wireless or wired mode? (I run mine wired) No it's not the wireless. Re: How do you power pc case fans without a motherboard for a MiSTer setup?

One thing I did fail to mention, there are Small 5 volt fans you can use, up to 80mm in size. Are you saying I shouldn't power a fan over 80mm directly from the de10? No, I am just not aware of any fans past 80mm in size that run off 5 volts. Also anything bigger than a 80mm fan on a 80mm fan on a custom MiSTer case (ether DIY or using a Small PC ...

Re: Proper handling of Left+Right/Up+Down?

Emulators allow for Simultaneous Opposing Cardinal Directions (or SOCD) filtering as it was a requested feature from the Fighting game community/ eSports players as SOCD can cause glitches or cheats (it was a huge issue with Marvel vs Capcom 3 that you can hit Right + Left and block even unlockable attacks). For arcade controllers, there are SOCD F...

For the General audience use, You are better off using Rom hacks/patches with Programing series of games.

Re: Make Mega CD BIOS "Name Based" Rather Than "Location Based"?

There is a region-free MegaCD BIOS, so you would not need to use multiple BIOS files, and I wonder why the Update_All_MiSTer script does not use it? Also I dislike that the Update_All_MiSTer script ignores a hard drive full of directories and then recreates the "missing" directories on the SD card, making the files on the hard drive invi...

Re: Hide System Menus like Key Settings possible?

Nothing that I am aware of.

The MiSTer Menus are kinda stripped down for technical reasons, although I don't see why the option to hide or disable parts of menu can't be enabled.

You can go and not map the Home/guide button on the control pad. But that's the best I can think of at this time.

Probably a similar process to how People got Physical carts to work with the MiSTer https://youtu.be/A9CkyjtJ6i4 You need your Memory card adapter, perhaps a linux driver and some linux console commands to symbolic link the memory card's contents to a folder. You have to mount the memory card image manually in the OSD. You are better off using the ...

Re: HDMI Powering Stuff - Potential Damage?

ARC is a separate issue from CEC
CEC is a "Networking feature" of HDMI while ARC is more an alternative to S/PDIF to transmit Audio.

A dental pick popping out a pin in a short HDMI extender or Male to Female coupler, or buying a remade adapter should eliminate the powering up issue entirely.

You are having CEC issues. Here a thread I wrote a while back discussing the issue at detail. It's more of a HDMI issue than a MiSTer issue, but MiSTer is one of the many devices affected. HDMI CEC and the MiSTer. https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?t=2474 To sum it up quickly, you are having CEC issues, CEC was supposed to let HDMI devices networ...

The vibration of the PS1/PS2 pads are from a 7 to 9 volt line. Nothing on the MiSTer supplies that.

As for the converter?
