Re: CGC Inaugural Game: Lupin III [Arcade]

Lesson learned: the pause function appears to be good for a momentary break only. Anything longer than that and it will reset the game! I was on a decent run too... So far this reminds me of a mix of Pac-Man (same year), Lock 'N' Chase (the year after), and Frogger (the year after). I'm not terribly good at it yet, but I'm going to try to get past...

I agree. Could we have "Arcade" as one core? Or rotate between weeks like Hetzen said.

You only have so many magic points that allow you to teleport randomly in the maze by pressing fire when you're cornered.
That's pretty much where I usually run out of lives. My last score was 4700-something.

Re: CGC Inaugural Game: Lupin III [Arcade]

Same sort of feeling here! In my case I have been struggling with the controls as this is supposed to be played with a 4-way joystick and I have got 8-way joysticks on my cab. I know I can use the restrictor but I am too lazy :mrgreen: As soon as I get a decent score I will post it here But as @charmless said I don't think I will be playing it a l...

Re: CGC Inaugural Game: Lupin III [Arcade]

Man, bank robbery is rough. I've played this game for a couple of hours now and I'm still trying to get a grip of how the guards are behaving and when that stupid dog will stop running. My High Score is around 4000 which is probably the same as the amount of words my kids had to ask me what they meant that I've shouted at my monitor. It seems like ...

Re: "MiSTer Community Plays" Events

So is the idea to randomize a core, then get suggestions to vote on? Of course the arcade cores will be what they are, but consoles and computers will need extra suggestions. Pretty much. I guess we still have to establish some ground rules. But maybe have 2 suggestions each per core and then vote on or randomly pick one of the suggestions and sta...

Re: "MiSTer Community Plays" Events

Yeah, it only works if you're signed in as the account I created for this right now. I'm glad I sourced another set of eyes on that list because you correctly pointed out that there were no Capcom cores, and then in researching that I realized that I hadn't included any of Jotego's public cores. They were not listed on the wiki, and his own docume...

That works for me! Here's a public link to the core list and randomizer "button" (now Pac-Man): https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/180EXmHxQ9qT92Wmgu76kOX0O78pbgejeTzemS7TO9E8/edit?usp=sharing It's open for commenting (but not editing), so please leave a note if you see something that needs improving with the list or otherwise. Re: "MiSTer Community Plays" Events

So I think we should move forward. There seems to be enough interest to get going at least. Here's my proposal (keeping in mind everything is malleable): We select either a core or a specific criteria/theme at random Once selected, we then nominate games with that nomination only needing to be seconded by another user to add it to the list From th...

Re: "MiSTer Community Plays" Events

I was mostly a computer gamer, and won't have good suggestions for Mister-playable titles. Maybe we should split consoles from computers? I'd be happy to suggest some computer games to try (which I've been meaning to get into myself). Well, we're already dealing with probable low audience level, so splitting even further might exacerbate the issue...

Re: "MiSTer Community Plays" Events

System of the month or even maybe genre of the month sounds good to me. Some computer cores need some fiddling too, so discussing how to get them to run can be useful. Recently I've been revisiting the Amiga library, there are some interesting adventure games there, but you have to ignore the lucasarts and sierra games to not drown them out fame-w...

You need three bios files to run US, Jap and PAL games.

boot.rom => US BIOS
boot1.rom => JP BIOS
boot2.rom => EU BIOS

Not witchcraft!
Sorgelig and the other FPGA "developers" are aliens that have created the MiSTer as a weapon to take over and enslave earth without any bloodshed (except on forums/social media off course :twisted: ).

Flickerblend on the Neo Geo Core

Hi! Is there no Flickerblend option in the Neo Geo Core? The Monitor I use with Mister is really sensetive to static flickering (the Life Bar in Samurai Shodown IV for example). I might just be missing it. If there are none. Are there other options to mitigate this problem? Maybe by using a different filter. All the help/guidance I can get is much ...

I agree with everything already stated. For me it's mainly ease of use and the awesome range of systems that are now available to us. I was for a long time way down the rabbit hole of trying to get the perfect image and sound out of old consoles and computers. Sometimes I had fun searching for the perfect cable, great looking CRTs or the best optio...
