Re: Sponsoring RTG support
Btw - SAGA from the Apollo Core project is supposed to be open source - instead of "implementing graphics card on FPGA", it adds native chunky modes to the existing AGA chipset - it's no secret that I am no super fan of the project in general, but this thing, in my view, makes a heck lot more sense.

Re: Sponsoring RTG support
I am talking about practical implications here, I am not talking about "what makes an Amiga" or that Amiga has no place as a productivity system. I am not much of a gamer myself, and primarily use Amiga for productivity. What is RTG? It's a software layer between the OS and graphics hardware - it patches to the OS to use hardware agnostic...

Re: Sponsoring RTG support
In my opinion, once you want RTG you can just as well drop FPGA and go straight to whatever UAE of choice - the *ENTIRE* point of FPGA Amiga is to replicate the Amiga chipset, and use it for what it was good at.

Re: What does MiSTer stand for? Is it an acronym?
For many, the MiST is still a better (and easier) choice than the MiSTer and they are still manufactured and sold (along with clones and spinoffs, like MiSTica and UnAmiga etc the MiST itself is open source after all). The DE-10 nano comes with quite a load of "mental overhead", it is more complicated, it has more features, more active de...

Re: Minimig HDF disk transfer speeds
Oops, I wrote k in stead of c - the name confusion of this module is that it really is called "ATAPIismajik" :) I think your changes to S-S are correct (the atapimagic module works with any scsi.device since OS3.5), and yes - building a custom kickstart is often easier than messing around with LoadModule and on-disk files :) As for access...

Re: Minimig HDF disk transfer speeds
You can just include this in your custom 3.1.4 kickstart, or load it with LoadModule, and you can use 4 devices sans IDEFix.

Re: PPP Network with miamiDX
Yeah, I wanted to write that Miami “non-Dx” doesn’t require MUi And MiamiDx I consider “overkill”, the deluxe features are really not much useful on MiSTer

Re: PPP Network with miamiDX
All the TCP stacks run on 68000. Olsen spent a lot of time on the PPP part of Roadshow, it is certainly a lot more reliable than what I recall from AmiTCP and even Miami, and when it comes to slow PPP links over serial, reliability and stability is more important than speed. Btw - MinimiDx does not _have_ to use MUI, there are also official fronten...
