LG 34GN950 - Not working with any 1440p resolution? (re: manual says its supported?)

I'm testing a new monitor with MiSTer but I can't seem to display 2560x1440 or 1920x1440. However, according to the manual it should be supported: Screenshot 2022-09-07 145109.png I've tried the following modeline but it doesn't produce an image: video_mode=2560,48,32,80,1440,2,4,38,183000,+hsync,-vsync Send HDMI parameters: video: 2560(2560), 48(4...

Re: RetroWave OPL3 Sound Card (USB/SPI) with ao486? (Similar to External MT32-PI?)

That would be awesome, but there are many problems... 1) ao486 core needs to be modified to send OPL data to user-port. 2) mt32pi needs to be modified to recognize data and send to RetroWave OPL3. 3) RetroWave OPL3 card outputs to 3.5mm jack and has no interface to send data back to ao486 core. Unfortunately I'm not too hopeful on accurate OPL emul...

Where do you live? I 3d printed one that Sigismond0 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4721767, cost me about £25 from Craftcloud. Thanks! I did see that one but it doesn't include holes for the speakers. I'm a beginner a 3D modeling (simple cases/boxes, PSU mounts) but I don't think I have to skill to add them unfortunately. Also, my Ender 3 print...

Does anybody know of a case for somebody who already has the screen and board?

I've been looking at the LaserBear 3D case but I don't like the large CRT version. They are creating a tablet-shape (like the one from this product) but it might be a while.

Re: Maximum input voltage for DE10-Nano / IO Board / USB hub?

Thanks for the reply and information.

I agree that I don't want to risk using anything not within tolerance. I can't find any actual datasheet on the DE10-Nano to see exactly what the minimum/maximum voltage is though.

I've also reached out to Terasic to see what they say but until I find out for sure I won't be providing anything above 5V.

Maximum input voltage for DE10-Nano / IO Board / USB hub?

Does anybody know the maximum input voltage for the DE10-Nano (and the I/O and USB boards) ? I'm wondering if it would be safe to use 6V to allow for voltage drop, etc. I think somebody on Discord mentioning the DE10-Nano having over-voltage protection at 6V but I'm wondering if anybody has concerned this (and I don't want to fry any of my componen...

Re: The Result of My Search for a Great MiSTer Display

So what's the verdict on the best monitor for MiSTer?

I have an LG 27UK600-W (4K) secondary monitor but I've been looking for something that supports up to 75 Hz for DOS gaming, but the 27UK600 does sync to all refresh rates I've been able to throw at it. (under 60 Hz of course)

Re: Possible to emulate 15 kHz display on 31 kHz (480p) by using scanlines?

Yeah I do understand a CRT monitor won’t be the same as a TV hopefully it’s still a good option.

Does 100% scan lines display the original 240p and then blank (black) lines where they would normally be?

Possible to emulate 15 kHz display on 31 kHz (480p) by using scanlines?

Is it possible to have a 31 kHz monitor emulate a 15 kHz display by injecting blank/scanlines? I was watching a video from Bob at RetroRGB (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLkN2AZLBMA) that showed a 31 kHz (480p) VGA monitor connected to an OSSC and by using the OSSC scanline feature he was able to have the 31 kHz monitor look identical to the 15 k...

Thanks so much for the information ... That's the exact issue I'm having. I should have searched better before posting. Did you find a DAC that eliminates the popping? You mentioned in that thread you still have the issue, but somebody commented later on recommending the FiiO D3? EDIT: Jotego also seems to recommend this PROZOR 192KHz Digital to An...

External speaker amplifier makes loud pop when switching cores and turning on/off?

I'm using a MiSTer in a custom arcade cabinet (ie. CRT TV with arcade controls, etc) but I'm using a car speaker amplifier connected to speakers. Here is the setup: MiSTer -> Extron SW4 VGA/Ars Switcher -> Volbox inline audio volume -> JBL DA4002 Amplifier -> 2x Speakers Everything works perfectly except there is a loud pop when I turn the MiSTer o...

That's also a good idea but it looks like it uses 11 of the 25 pins on the parallel port (DB25) connector. I don't think the MiSTer has that many more available with everything else it uses?

RetroWave OPL3 Sound Card (USB/SPI) with ao486? (Similar to External MT32-PI?)

Does anybody know if it's possible to add support for something like the RetroWave OPL3 Sound Card to the ao486 core? I'm also interested in sound emulation as accurate as possible and this "sound card" is basically an authentic YMF262 chip with an SPI I/O extender. It's also Raspberry Pi compatible or they sell a compact PotatoPi Lite to...

Possible to create a chiptunes (VGM?) player core?

Is it possible to combine the various audio chip cores (Jotego's Yamaha cores, OPL3 FPGA core, etc) to create an FPGA VGM player?

I certainly do not have the skill or understanding to create one, but I think this is something that many people would be excited for?

It sounds like it's impossible (due to FPGA space) to implement into the ao486 core, but I'd love a core with an accurate OPL3 just to play audio files, etc.

LG 34GN850 - 3440x1440 - Ultrawide monitor for MiSTer?

I'm looking to buy a new ultrawide monitor for my PC and have been specifically looking at the LG 34GN850. I'm hoping to buy a monitor that is perfect for both PC games AND using the MiSTer. The monitor supports freesync so I believe there is a good chance it will support most refresh rates from the MiSTer cores. For example, I want to play ao486 g...

Re: Xbox Wireless Adapter Driver (xow) Ready for Testing

Quick question. Does this XoW driver now come as standard with MiSTer Main, or is it still in testing? I'm considering a backup/reformat/refresh of my MiSTer for general maintenance, and figured I'd wait until XoW is ready for prime time (even though I realise it can be installed manually, having already done so in my current install). Thanks! Wit...

@Shrapnl, thanks for testing! Your results look like what is expected. The Linux kernel (zImage_dtb) is different from the MiSTer version and the menu version. I'm not sure the version appears anywhere but my custom build might not show a different version regardless. The patched linux kernel adds support for the "fat" Xbox Adapter (as yo...

No problem at all. The latest version I've uploaded matches the latest version of xow from their git repository. OK - No problem. It was confusing because the initial xow_on.sh script didn't download the xow binary but the current one does. I've gone ahead and committed the latest xow binary (same from .zip above). If you run the xow_on.sh script it will now download that version as well.
