Re: tty2oled Soft&Hardware Add-On (Shows Core based Pictures on a Display)

It has been a while since the last update of pictures. But don't think I'l just getting older and lazier!
Not too much to present, but here are the latest pictures I made.

Re: Individually Bootable VHDs for Each Game

I built a (cracked) version of Future Wars which doesn't need the reference card for the copy protection. Successfully tested in PCem only for now and ao486. L1 cache need to be disabled!

Re: Individually Bootable VHDs for Each Game

I created a compatibility chart . Feel free to edit or to adopt. Aces of the Pacific totally works on ao486. It requires 610,000 bytes (595KB) of conventional memory AND 344,064 bytes (336 KB) of Expanded memory (EMS). You need to fiddle a bit with memory managers (EMM386/QEMM in this case for EMS) to get it done. If in doubt, you can use Flynnsbi...

Re: DOSContainer Alpha Release

That's really funny. Just finished some games a few minutes ago and re-tried Terminal Velocity with the full length text for "publisher" after your message...and guess: it's working now. The only line I've changed in this yaml is a last line "FILES=50". Weird.

Shall I upload them?

Re: DOSContainer Alpha Release

Going to test the new version today. yq on ArchLinux is also at 3.2.3.
One thing I 've observed is that the field publisher is looking like to have some quirks. I'm working on Terminal Velocity and the publisher is named 3D Realms Entertainment , which seems too long. A shorter form is working.

Re: tty2rpi Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a HDMI or DSI display)

Big update! Almost all SPI/DPI/DSI displays are now supported, as long as there exists a RPi DTO for it. See /boot/config.txt.example for examples. This obsoletes last update's GC9A01="yes" (but the GC9A01 display is still supported) which is replaced by FBUFDEV="no" # Set to "yes" when using such a display FBDEVICE=&q...

I see that you have changed "sed" to "gsed". I'm using ArchLinux and there is no gsed; if I change that back to sed in framework.sh, everything is still working...so what's the point of gsed?

Re: [New version!] SD Card Migration Utility for MiSTer: An easy way to migrate to a new SD card, no PC required

I've 3 Misters and each one has 32GB microSD with only arcades, ScummVM with games and nothing else. All my games are on NAS so i can play them from any Mister and are protected with Raid 5 from losing them for faulty HDDs :D That's it! Same here...but I'm having all cores and its stuff on a NAS. WiFi speed is fast enough to wait just a few seconds.

Re: tty2rpi Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a HDMI or DSI display)

Small update: You can now use a small round 1.28" GC9A01 display with 240x240 pixel in size. This enables more SPI based displays, but don't expect too much horsepower from them. Display in action with 1943kai and N64 To use a GC9A01 display, install mplayer : sudo apt install mplayer Enable the display in /boot/config.txt by removing the # ch...

Re: My only minor side to the MiSTer

Hehe, I understand your complaints, but MiSTery already is the name for the Atari ST core. Yes, you're right that "Mr." (or "MiSTer") is somewhat "difficult" (try to search for MiSTer things in the internet) - and that's why I'm always using "(the) MiSTer FPGA". Just works in all situations.

Just my 2c.

Re: tty2rpi Add-On (shows core based pictures and videos on a HDMI or DSI display)

Debian Bookworm is now the actual version for our Raspberry's. If you are going to upgrade to Bookworm, you may stumble about a change how networking is done now as they are using NetworkManager for managing networks. For WiFi setups: After upgrading but before rebooting, create a file named /etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/wlan.nmconnection ...
