Re: CRT vs. LCD "Disadvantage of CRT with Cores"
If you're young enough you can still hear certain high-pitched whines CRTs emit, which some people find annoying. I never found it too bothersome though.

Re: Default gamma in MiSTer.ini not possible?
The features you mentioned are new / recently changed, and I don't think so. I was referring mainly to the old vfilter_default and such.

Here's a nice article about what mappers are supported by the NES core (and competing solutions).nutsack137 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 09, 2021 4:52 am (2) are all the mappers used in official NES/Famicom/FDS releases supported?

Re: Default gamma in MiSTer.ini not possible?
Agreed. The lack of a default gamma correction setting feels like an omission, since there are already default settings for other image options. It means I have to set it by hand in every single core.

Re: Turbo Grafx 16 CD cheats?
Doesn't the Update All script download cheats for all systems, including PC Engine CD? Think that's where my PCE CD cheats came from. Then yes, I had to move the relevant cheat zips to the disc images' folder and rename them to match the disc image filenames to make the OSD recognize them. Like so: PEYuyZm.png They largely seem to work, also. (I ha...

If no one here knows, there is very attentive BlisSTer-specific support on the Classic Gaming discord. Has a dedicated channel.
Re: SyncThing
Thanks for the suggestion, I think, as you pointed out, the strain on the SD card might be too much. I do have a NAS which is already running SyncThing so will investigate SMB/CIFS suggestion instead. I'm curious what you ended up doing. As you note, SyncThing would be a great boon for keeping MiSTers synced/backed up, but it does seem less than i...

Re: Questions about LLAPI
Problem is, existing LLAPI enabled cores have recently ceased being updated, so I wouldn't cross my fingers re: support in yet-to-be released cores, such as the PSX and Saturn (heck, even SNAC isn't confirmed atm) Just to mention Onthewaveagain has been updating the LLAPI cores in their spare time, incorporating some of the recent changes. T...
