Re: Controllers
Bluetooth audio devices aren't supported on the MiSTer. I suggest for headphones ether get the audio off the IO Board, HDMI Audio capture, or off the Display. Most Smart TVs have Bluetooth audio support. I think I can only connect it to one device at a time (see the headphone jack on the controller in the post above (1st picture), the audio is tra...

Re: Controllers
Battery empty, I thought I could hook my PS5 controller up to the MiSTer and charge it. But that does not seem to be working. So what can I use, a phone charger? Answering my own question after some trail and error, these are the controller requirements: sony_dualsense_requirements.jpg I had a 5V/2.0A phone charger laying around that does the job....

Re: PSX off external hard drive
I have 3 questions:
* Does the BIOS "boot.rom" need to be in the CIFS mounted folder as well ?
* Do you mount it inside a "games" folder eg: /media/cifs/games/PSX or /media/cifs/PSX ?
* How do people do this for usb eg: /media/usbX/games/PSX or /media/usbX/PSX ?

Why not compile the latest dosbox-SVN ? That's where all the good stuff is :D The 0.74-3 is almost 3 years old 2019-06-26, 18:53 Has DOSBox seen any substantial development on the last years? I thought it was an stagnated project because of architectural decisions that make it impossible to improve it much... there are actually attempts on moderni...

Re: Why a full SSH packages instead of dropbear ?
Just a quick question, I hope someone can answer. What is the reason behind a full SSH package? because dropbear does the same and is lightweight. Thank you Besides being Lightweight, what are if any advantages? Afaik it has less dependencies and is easier to maintain https://matt.ucc.asn.au/dropbear/dropbear.html So its definitely worth exploring...

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core
EDIT & UPDATE: So apparently I've been accessing it the wrong way... However if I access UNSTABLE at the root of my SD directory I discover several different nightly cores. I did not know this was there. Apparently the latest is at the bottom. Tried the ones at the top, at least 3 were giving me the grim screen of doom. Once I tried the bottom...

Do you have a cue with a "single .bin" or "multiple bin" files?

Re: A Real PC XT Core Perhaps?
A strange notion. Archive is a repository of individual sources. Some might be less or more "reputable" but it mostly means more or less known. In any case we shouldn't dismiss them out of hand. Not really, there are loads of incomplete, broken, badly patched, bad uploads there. Developing with those is an accident waiting to happen. Bet...

Re: A Real PC XT Core Perhaps?
I have made an analysis of a game that does not work in this core , the Tapper . In this case, we get to the menu screen and it is possible to modify the options, but when starting it, it hangs at this point: I would not use a Tapper as a testcase. as this is a 3rd party conversion. Tapper is a self-booter, and archive.org isn't a reputable source...

Re: That horrible bash prompt PS1
A pull request at github will work better. Anyway you can put that configuration into ~/.profile Yes that worked thank you. I'm kinda allergic to Microsoft. So anyone already on there, feel free to submit this as your own. Something similar is already been done in the MiSTer github as part of the MiSTer scripts called make_linux_nice. https://raw....

You can put a file called "motd" in /etc/. You could use my motd. https://github.com/jayp76/MiSTer_get_optional_installers/blob/master/misc/motd You probably have to recopy it everytime there is a mojor MiSTer Linux update. Thank you :D I stole your prompt.. Ha! you did :D. Its looking good. I hope there will be more people contributing.

All right now I'm not pointing fingers, because I made my share of MiSTakes along the way. But something led /etc/profile to evolve into this: if [ "$PS1" ]; then if [ "`id -u`" -eq 0 ]; then export PS1='$(pwd)# ' else export PS1='$(pwd)$ ' fi fi Could we please change it into this, which does exactly the same thing: export PS1=...

SSH Login ASCII Art
Every time I use SSH, the logon bothers me, are there some great ASCII artists that can create the MiSTERfpga logo.
Something like the one for openwrt (see picture), but for the MiSTer project, and better.
Now I tried something myself, but came to the conclusion that I really stink at it.
So I am crying out for help here

Re: Are we only using 50% of the resources?
DE10-Nano have dual core processor, and output of /proc/cpuinfo seems correct to me - you can see two logical processors, processor #0 and processor #1 AFAIK, 1GB RAM is divided into two segments: 512 MB is available for HPS (available for Linux side of Mister) and another 512 MB is dedicated for FPGA so you won't be able to see it from OS side. A...

Are we only using 50% of the resources? When I look at the DE-10 nano specs in Linux I'm getting a whole different picture. Did I overlook something ? Re: How to Setup the Unstable PlayStation Core on your MiSTer
I like Lu's Retro Source and its good people follow along just once. But like all manual things they are prone to error and tire rather quickly.
Better read this for a quick setup: viewtopic.php?p=39332#p39332 or wget the direct link from above.

Here's the new one: https://github.com/MiSTer-unstable-nightlies/PSX_MiSTer/releases/ I agree on updating the link in the first post, but keep it a sticky. If someone is new to the PSX core, this is the place to start. All they have to do is follow this , copy their game onto the s...

Re: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core
EDIT: Just like everyone else in this thread when they crossed the proverbial THE SHIT IS FINALLY WORKING! finish line. Why didn't you soley use the script on page #1? It seems to do everything afaict. The only exception is that it updates the MiSTer main, if you haven't updated it in a while. Which was preferable then, but now not so much. @Akuma...

Dear moderator, this thread should be a sticky with a title like
"Beginners Guide: Nightly Public Builds for the PlayStation Core"
(The more it shifts down, the more problems I see pop up in various threads that could easily be avoided by just reading this one, go figure )
