Re: MiSTer Super Attract Mode (SAM) is now available - the first game screensaver for your MiSTer!

Tried it out - it doesn't seem to do anything. It ran some linux stuff and downloaded the ini files, apart from that, it didn't launch any games.

edit: seems to do something now! Forgot to edit the .ini settings.

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Initial Port to MiSTer

Recorded from my ZX Next real hardware. Scramble - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAu5jsKOhZc Warhawk v101 - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CvU7fCUkBkI Skip to 2:58 for gameplay. Warhawk demo - https://youtu.be/2HhGNNP3JMY Thanks - it's hard to tell from the videos, but I think it looks like the scrolling is more consistent than MiSTer ZX Next. ...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Initial Port to MiSTer

There seems to have some kind of scrolling jerkiness/ judder on MiSTer's ZX Next during some games. This problem seems to be present in both Scramble, and Warhawk Demo. This is not present running Scramble via the ZX Spectrum Next CSPECT emulator. I haven't had the chance to test Warhawk in CSPECT. It'd be interesting to see how these games perform...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Initial Port to MiSTer

Sprites seem to be missing from the Warhawk Demo on latest release. Anyone else see this? it's fine for me. May be your VHD is broken by 0404 release write. Still not working for me with latest core - I downloaded the boot.vhd again from MiSTer ZXNext Github and replaced my old boot.vhd I reverted the core to ZXNext_20210404.rbf, enemy sprites ret...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next Initial Port to MiSTer

Loving this core, just need some game recommendations. I'd say check out https://www.rustypixels.uk/ , a small development team consisting of talented coders from back in the Spectrum era: - Tyvarian - Baggers in Space - Warhawk The above are paid, digital downloads are available which cost less. There's also a good Tetris version called "Cro...

Re: Could somebody post a beginners guide to the ZX Next Core

This part made sense. The place I have always been lost of setting up the classic computers is how I can install additional games onto the VHD. There are quite a few games for sale on itch.io for the Spectrum Next, but I am lost on how I would install those on the Mister core. You can mount boot.vhd in Windows by double clicking on it and then bro...

Seems to work well - only had time to try out the Warhawk demo, and naturally it runs much better than it did via CSPECT emulation.

I'm staring at p.30 of the DE-10 manual scratching my head.

Any simple guide to where the wires from the PI connect to the DE-10 Nano?

edit: Nevermind, tunnel vision on GPIO ports, thought the arduino connections were on an actual arduino, lol

Any thoughts on this as a Mister display?:

I like the idea of it being simple to rotate for vertical games, and not being chained to a desk with a traditional monitor.

Re: MiSTer in the Commodore 65 / MEGA65 wedge case

It was known they plan to sell the cases separately very long time ago. Unfortunately it doesn't move at all. While they develop the electronic parts and FPGA core, nothing stops them to release the cases at first for those who need just cases. The only thing stopping them is protecting their launch publicity. No way are they going to let the case...

Here's the memory module required for Mister to run Spectrum Next: https://manuferhi.com/p/dual-memory-for-mister-sdram-32mb-2mb-sram I hope there can be a 128MB version eventually - swapping the ram when I want to use the Next is not appealing, or a second Mister! Having problems getting this core running. I placed the amstrad.rom from github Amstrad_MiSTer, placed it games/amstrad folder and the system never completes boot, the initial Amstrad Logo and some information appears, yellow text and blue screen, but flashes over and over again. System is set to 6128 in the Core options. Anything I am missing or d...

Nothing beats Neo Turf Masters as the greatest golfing game in the history of video gaming.

I enjoyed 'Leaderboard' on the Atari ST - there's also an Amiga version too.

Why have a complex hinge instead of something you can screw down? I’ve never opened my my mister case since setting it up. Seems less breakable too.

Re: Fixed size and already partitioned VHDs here!

How did you resolve this? I'm having the exact same issue. You can make your own VHD in disk management, basically create the VHD as fixed storage, allocate it's size, set it as MBR, but don't format it, or partition it, or create a simple volume. Copy the VHD to mister then in MSDOS using "fdisk" command. Change to the drive with option...
