Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Thank you bazza_12, so my set-up seems to be correct. need to figure out why windows do not want to display more than 16 colors then. Will make a new installation.... tomorrow will see.

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Thank you @bbond007, it is exactly the one I used. I've maybe to reinstall Win 3.11 from scratch.
But before I do so, there is something else maybe that I'm doing wrong, because I've just realized that after launching univbe it get this and I'm not sure seeing this that the card even under Ms-Dos is well recongnised/set :

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Is anybody managed to get Windows 3.11 running with "at least' 256 colors ? I've the right boot1.rom (ET400W32 CRC : 713cb637), univbe installed, cache27 core and the right ET4000 driver for windows installed. Despite al of this, I can run W3.11 at 640*480 or 800*600 but only with 16 colors while the 256 colors driver is installed. It is impos...

@ron,
YES ! Sorry to do not have thought using the previous build. I do confirm the Beta02 works like a charm now.
So Beta03 can have issue then with some DE boards ?
Thank you one more time, also to @tontonkalun to have spent time to help on this and to @Alkadian.

Re: Core MSX1 by Fabio Belavenuto ported to MiSTer by Yo_Me and Benitoss
I used Samba to make the transfer (directly via window explorer then)
But it is a good point. I'll try by FTP using filezilla, I remember I had to do this for the scrips which were not working by using samba.
Will test and let you know.

Re: Core MSX1 by Fabio Belavenuto ported to MiSTer by Yo_Me and Benitoss
Here is exactly what happened with the files you provided me (and also with the other ones I had used before) I already have corrupted characters at the MSX logo prompt (the very 1st screen when the MSX1 boots) Then it goes to the basic screen shown above and that's it. I've even just notices that if I write something at the basic screen, the core ...

Re: Core MSX1 by Fabio Belavenuto ported to MiSTer by Yo_Me and Benitoss
Yes, it is what I did, and I tried this with different SD cards where all work anyway with all other cores and still the same issue. I did a fresh installation and still the same. I'm totally confused. The main Mister file is also the one provided so I'm lost...

Re: Core MSX1 by Fabio Belavenuto ported to MiSTer by Yo_Me and Benitoss
Thanks to the help of @ron and the file of @tontonkaloun, I got the core "more or less" working. I say more or less because most of the time it hangs and once it boots, I have corrupted character at the screen. This is something that I cannot see on the videos and according to the previous posts nobody has this kind of issue. Any idea whe...

Re: Breakthrough for the ao486 core announced - Cache
Just checked with the ET4000W32.BIN and I'm so happy because my favorite program DESKMATE from tandy works like a charm now, while before, with the old bios it didn't work at all. Big thanks already for this ! I tried Win 3.11 with the same ET driver, it works also but only in 16 colors. Geos has also the same graphic issues than before but I guess...

Re: Core MSX1 by Fabio Belavenuto ported to MiSTer by Yo_Me and Benitoss
Hi Ron, I ended with the same issue, no FS recognized. I used an external SD card formatted in Fat16 and placed all the relevant files in it, but I'm confused because when I try to load the .VHD it goes to the internal (primary) SD card. Does this mean that the primary SD card needs to be formatted in FAT16 in order to have the MSX1 core working ? ...

@Jayde Six,
I'm maybe wrong but so far I remember, AO486 is quite demanding in terms of power. Could a non strong enough power supply cause this issue ?

Thank you @Chris23235 for this valuable information, I was aware that for Amiga this king of tool was existing (with the same restriction regarding the audio tracks) but I didn't know that this was also existing for MS-Dos, good catch!

@sofakng I'm also a collector/enthusiast like you than a video game player, especially due to lack of time, so I'd like to give you my point of view on your questions/interrogations. I think they are really 3 categories of people involved in this. * The real purist which will tells you that at the moment where you modify or add something not offici...

@Newsdee, fully agree with you, On the other hands, even in the PC world, some computers were not 100% PC compatible like the Tandy series, the Olivetti M series etc. My favorite program that I used a lot back in the day is DESKMATE from Tandy. So far, this program does not work on the AO486 core due to graphic problems. I guess that this is due to...

Hello @lomdar67, I've just tried RCR486 under AO486 (2020-05-10 build) and it doesn't work (unless I did something wrong but I do not think so). The error message returned by the game is : Co-processor required Run this game on a 486 DX or newer. There is a README.TXT file with the DOS game saying among other things, this, which corroborate the err...

@bazza_12 "I really hope the Amiga is seen as more than just a games platform." I really like this sentence. I was reseller of Amiga (among other brands like Atari, PC etc) back in the day and worked in two different shops. The 1st One was game only and the second one was for professional, it was the time of having an A2000 + 68020 was th...
