Re: Proper handling of Left+Right/Up+Down?
yes, the games that exhibit this behaviour have no input validation to see if any "impossible" key combination have been made. (most notably left+right or up+down)

You could open a request here and hope that someone is willing to invest the time to add that logic to the core.
Or download the source, write the logic, compile and test, and maybe request they merge it?

Re: USB Hub V2.1
using exFAT here, haven't really noticed anything out of the ordinary as of yet, but then again i'm not using Amiga or 486 core at this point so it might be an existing "non existant" problem for me. (weirdly phrased i'm aware. )

Re: USB Hub V2.1
That would mean you would need to spin up and potentially keep an external device powered on 24/7 just to service the MiSTer with a high availability option for systems that didn't even need this? To each his / her own i guess but to fire up a NAS just for this is not really efficient in my humble opinion, but if you've got one running already then...

i'm using an external ssd with a usb3 storage adapter but the throughput and seek times are more than enough for the cores i believe.

Assuming it has the FE2.1 controller it's USB2 so in theory 480Mbp/s (60MB/s).

Re: PSX Compatibility List
faulty ram then i would've thought that more games and more cores would have shown issues beside only tekken 2.
the strange thing that only your US tekken 2 has this and nothing else.
the image md5 checks out, i'm afraid i can't suggest anything more besides this, i've got the same image (on a MD5 checksum) as you, and the game runs fine for me.

Re: PSX Compatibility List
at this point i can't say, the only thing left for me to add, is that i run the game of an usb connected SSD. but if you would be running of sd card of a conventional hdd that shouldn't be a problem as the ps1 had a 2x cd drive which was 300Kb/s at best? also i would've expected other games to have similar issues, so i don't know if that is the cas...

Re: MiSTer Reboots When Packaged in Ultimate Case?
if you take the MiSTer setup out of the case and run it barebone, does it keep working? you might have a dead short to the case somewhere, i've had that once with a pc case which my father bought for his pc that kept that machine in a dead boot loop. once i ran it outside the case it ran perfectly fine, when i replaced the case with a decent one th...

Tekken 2 (USA) (Rev 1).chd MD5=FAB7C1DFA7C6AB3160A851E27ACFC2B3
This game worked fine for me, intro without hitches or missing sound, ingame worked just as good.
But i've converted my whole library to CHD format so i can't say if it would match up against the redump version without converting your dump to CHD format.

Re: More Power with Two DE10 Nano Boards?
That's a really bad idea. MISTer is self contained and can be carried around in your pocket, no need to lug a PC around. I for one would like a pci-e card that encompasses a large fpga and fast memory for the cores? It's not like i carry my MiSTer all over the place so it would be all good for me, modularity on that card would be harder then i gue...

Re: Can anyone make The Misadventures of Tron Bonne run on the PSX core?
Can I do this with IMGBURN? I believe so, unless the disc has bad sectors as a copy protection, then you might want to fall back to other software. I think i used Alcohol120% and Nero 4 or 5 back then which also featured skipping unreadable sectors if not mistaken. BIN/CUE seems to be the preferred output format though i've done ISO as well in the...

Re: Can anyone make The Misadventures of Tron Bonne run on the PSX core?
might want to try a slower read speed, and potentially CRC32/MD5/SHA1 check your dump against a verified working file on: Redump - Tron Ni Kobun to make sure your dump is correct.
not sure if japanese games had any form of copy protection, i'd recommend google'ing it just to be sure.

Re: Is There a Preferred ROM Set That Works Best with PSX Core?
The set was in BIN/CUE format so i had to convert it myself.
There's a batch script available here on the forum i believe, for my own use i've written a frontend for CHDMAN (the utility needed for conversion) to convert cd images to CHD format.
People can use it if they want to
CHD UI page and CHDUI Compiled
Hopefully it's of use to some.

like Grizzly, i'm using the 1G1R set, sans the games i will never play anyway, converted them all to CHD and up till now haven't run into any issues.
though there's so many, it could take some time untill a potential issue can show up.

Re: Advanced cores for MiSTer future FPGA hardware
Expecting hobbyists to ever duplicate the Cell processor in FPGA format is, I think, wishful thinking written large. In real life, the first CPUs were things that individual people could do, but then later generations were funded by the huge sales of the earlier chips. Companies could devote large teams to chip projects. The Cell processor project...

Re: Advanced cores for MiSTer future FPGA hardware
How is it "Preservation", when it comes to N64, Dreamcast, PS2, etc... ? There are millions of them out there on eBay, second-hand shops, etc... It's not like it's hard to get one right now. What I personally think is more important is the hundreds of machines released from the 70s, to the 80s, and 90s, that still have either no emulatio...

So it might be some time before he's able to do some work on the core.

Re: MISTer and USB Drives
as far as i can judge: the MiSTer is aware when any usb device is connected and will act accordingly. i'm using a ssd drive and the moment i connect it to my mister it takes about 2~3 seconds to mount and list, it's pretty fast. so it could be your drive that has / uses a specific way of anouncing itself to the connected system? i used to have a fe...

Re: More Power with Two DE10 Nano Boards?
not an expert here, but i would think this would introduce a lot of additional (needless?) complexity to the system. as the cores would need to interop with eachother there would a need for a highspeed communication bus which the de10 doesn't feature i believe? only way i could imagine it would be a totally new board with the two processors close t...

just smack multiple MiSTer boards into a cab, wire them up to a hdmi switch and hook the swap button to the channel switcher and there you go!
costly and impractical to boot!
