Does someone know how often the gifs are updated?

Re: MiSTer Extensions - Remote

I updated with update_all but i don't get the new menu. What am i missing? By the way. I added setname support for all the official systems with mgl files like you asked. I also added Saturn support. I didn't add CD support for neo geo yet, I couldn't see the source code for the new core updates and I need to look in one of those files to get the ...

That is super strange. Can you check in your config folder if you have save files for those settings for that core in there?

You know examples like i have a MGL file for the GameGear and the core itself is Master System. But when i choose GameGear it loads the Master System core.
And unstable stuff like Neo Geo CD and Saturn.

No, not from main. 3 times, downloaded and updated my main mister with unstable nightly and Saturn Core with no success. Today I performed update_all, which updated a lot of things and Linux part also, and Tadammmm! Saturn working again. exactly, you had the wrong unstable my friend. because if the update_all did solve the issue, the issue was in ...

Re: Battletoads

So i tested also and you can have the rbf file in the arcade/cores folder, the mgl in wherever folder or root of arcade you want and if you put the battletoads folder with the bin files in root it will load automatically.

I have made a _99 unstable builds folder in arcade where all thes wip core go.

No, I think it's a bug. I changed folder names at some point and probably missed something.

so what does the script do if the overwrite is disabled? just don't transfer it?

I still need local storage to unpack them before transferring them to the matrix, a deletion after the matrix was updated could be added. oh ok i understand. so it downloads to the mister and then transfers all of them to the external. so the only thing is an option to delete them afterwards and the right folder on external sd car. dit it maybe cr...

Sounds like you found a bug in the Matrix SD update part of the script. I've logged the issue and will take a look when I have a chance.

Thanks. maybe there should be the choice to select to update the gifs on mister or sd external separately?

You are correct in your understanding of the switches. The path is for the local storage of GIFs on your MiSTer SD Card, I would leave it but you can adjust it to whatever you'd like. But if i turn on SD Update it saves the gif on my mister sd card and sd car on the matrix. And on the external sd car on the matrix it does not save properly as it m...

Yes. When you map joypad buttons to your keyboard you qlso map the buttons for confirm and back for osd menu. When you want to swtich to the first alt ini you press that defined back button and left together.

There is not much information on the forum for this core. In order to avoid any confusion for myself or any one else trying this core I have a few question. This core uses the same NEOGEO.CFG config file as the console core. When I first tried a very early version of this core it broke the config file for use with the console core. I even tried to...

Re: Neo Geo CD Core

@AmanoJacu I am not sure what this core can do or cannot do, it is just by looking at what is in the OSD "System Type" where you can select AES, MVS, CD and CDZ that I speculated that at some point this core will replace the NeoGeo official core. This core is not official, it works with the current Linux and MISTer main, no need for unst...

Is this still not possible with the keyboard? Showed up to a retro event with my mister and was stuck with a video mode I could not display. My connected Bluetooth controllers of course time out / disconnect before it's able to receive the signal to switch to the alt ini. I suppose this is only possible with a hard wired controller of some kind. I...

So for CD why not use mgl, even if in the future the MeoGeo-CD replaces the NeoGeo core.

Nothing to do with the BlackWine core as far as I know.

Missunderstood then as you made a list of what and how to use it looked like MGL for all points.

Does it still break the console settings?

Yes, saving settings causes the MVS AES core to only want to load ISO,BIN.
The CD core can load the AES MVS games but with no sound.

Reset MVS AES core settings, and reload the core to fix it.

No, you just change from system CD to AES or MVS and back.

I know and I think I will go with mgl:
For AES I use the console core.
For MVS I use the BlackWine core.
So for CD why not use mgl, even if in the future the MeoGeo-CD replaces the NeoGeo core.

The blackwine arcade NG core is a separate rbf. No need for a MGL there.
