Re: 1084 Monitor With Background Noise When Changing Cores

This is normal, the audio amplifier picks up so much interference in this monitor. It’s cheaply and poorly constructed.

You may use an external amp and speakers for better sound.

Re: Handful of CPS2 Games Have Corrupted Graphics

Just something of note, it may be worth keeping the 32MB SDRAM if you get the 128MB upgrade. Anything that has been dual SDRAM (Optional PS1, potentially Saturn), people have been able to use a 32MB as their second SDRAM. So if you're interested at all in going down that path, the 32MB may still come in handy. No, please stop. This is not a thing ...

Re: Sega Saturn Core in Development

I try the core but couldn't boot anything. I rename the right bios boot.rom, but i have nothing, is suspect direct video is not working yet, only VGA ? Direct video doesn’t work well. It kinda worked for me with one adapter and absolutely not with another (though both work with other all other cores except PS1). I have not tried the latest core wi...

Hey guys

I believe if you hold RUN and press SELECT you're supposed to do a soft reset of the console. This does not happen.

Anyone else?

The noctua fan comes with those long rubber things for mounting vibration proof. You can use those instead of screws.

You don’t need to remove the sd card so why use an extender on it? Just use Ethernet or wi fi for file transfers.

Just ran update all, PSX core is much newer now (july 2). Still happens. The core loads, and when the PS1 logo shows up, the screen starts flickering and rolling. Using direct video. All other cores work. Anyone else? This is my ini: [MiSTer] key_menu_as_rgui=0 ; set to 1 to make the MENU key map to RGUI in Minimig (e.g. for Right Amiga) forced_sca...

Re: USB Hub V2.1

Why would you want a hard drive, anyway? I put a 256 GB micro SD card in my Mister and it can fit a lot of stuff. It was really cheap, too. Even the 512 GB memory cards are quite reasonable.

I transfer all my stuff through the network, that way there's no plugging and unplugging the card.

I assume there are DB15-to-DIN cables out there, I have the SCART modified version, but I assume someone made one. This post from a few months ago has the same problem, perhaps this is some kind of rare bug with the mister software rather than a hardware issue, or rather a combination of both.

Re: Sync Problem Rolling Picture Using direct_video Mode

Hey dudes,

I just did an update_all and my PS1 core no longer works with direct video. The picture is rolling and flickering like mad. I also tried the nightly build: PSX_unstable_20220627_15ed1e.rbf .

Any ideas? What should I do? It worked perfectly before the update (last time I ran update all was maybe around two weeks ago).

Re: I’m Stuck? A Majority of Newer Arcade Cores Won’t Recognize Inputs

I had the same problem when the sega 16 core came out. It refused inputs on all games. It still is kinda broken in that no inputs work on any sega 16 game, but now it is at least somewhat possible to map buttons to the games, but it doesn’t work every time for some reason. I use a wired usb controller.

Re: Cave Cores Not Compatible With Direct Video on CRT?

I've tried the latest nightly unstable main too, and no change. What I mean by black screen is that the TV goes completely black, and I cannot even bring up the menu. I have to restart the entire Mister. This doesn't happen with any other core, regardless of refresh rate. If it's incompatible it usually makes the screen flicker, not crash the Mister.

Re: Any reason(s) to use s-video/composite over component, if you have the option?

I couldn’t tolerate composite back in the day of CRTs and the fact that you guys are bringing it back feels like heresy to me. These old TVs can look glorious, but it’s not composite that does it. RGB/component is the only option in my opinion.

Put the Mister file in the root of the SD card. Replace it with the original (you have to rename the nightly build to MiSTer if it has another name). When you load a game, the Saturn splash screen will show, and then you will be on the CD player screen. This is when you choose "load application", the icon in the top left corner, to start ...

Hi guys,

I've never been able to play any of the Cave cores on my Mister (this includes the latest ones), all I get is a black screen. I am using direct video on a CRT. Is this not a possibility?

Here is the Saturn rbf (single RAM version). Put it in the cores folder and then download Sega Saturn BIOS v1.01 (1995)(Sega)(JP)(M6).bin and rename it to boot.rom. You also need the latest Mister unstable build: https://github.com/MiSTer-unstable-nightlies/Main_MiSTer/releases/download/unstable-builds/LatestBuild.zip FAQ here: https://docs.google....
