Set NES to PAL/NTSC/Dendy via .mgl?

I am using .mgl's as a shortcut to games.

Is it possible to set CPU/PPU to PAL or NTSC via an option in the .mgl so that I don't have to do it manually each time?

I think I actually solved it.

qsound.zip needs to be in the same folder as the games, effectively games/mame.

I've been playing Akumajou Dracula on the X68000-JT51 core (date 20.09.13) and i've run into a bug with the core. With start at stage 13/14, the GAME OVER screen gets superimposed over the gameplay area (see attached photos). This hides parts of the background tiles, but sprites seems unaffected. No special ini settings except for vga video settings and sound works perfectly.

If you get picture on your crt, you should get sound if the sound part of the cable is connected to 3.5mm audio output on the io board.

check the header in Mesen or other ines header software and change to the correct mapper.
If the mapper is not supported, you can always request it here: https://misterfpga.org/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=5

To change the actual mapper of a NES game, you'll need some serious 6502 assembler knowledge

I don't think you'll have to worry about official games that has been checked against redump .dat, my jap Rondo of Blood works perfectly with sound and speach in .chd format.
Fanpatches or hacks was sometimes applied to bad rips, and some rips floating around the internet seems to be bad.

I was refering to the hacked ROM ofc. Anyways, MMC1 doesnt care about the INES mirroring bit. The original Shinsenden ROM is actually also Vertical Mirroring, atleast at bootup. At MMC1 initialization, the game sets mirroring to vertical, PRG fixed bank at $C000 + 16kb Switch bank at $8000 and CHR bank mode to 2 seperate 4kb banks by writing bits 1...

MegaCD\Japan\game.chd

MegaCD\USA\... same as above

And it works perfectly.

The game is a MMC1 game with a 512k PRG ROM which should mean that the PCB is a SOROM, SUROM or SXROM. Those boards used the upper CHR Select bit on the mmc1 to select Adressline 18 om the PRG ROM (which allows access to the other half of the PRG ROM).

It could potentially be an issue with the ines header if it isnt configured correctly.

I checked the size of the translated ROM and it seems correct (513K) = HEX 8000F including header 16 bytes (7FFFF without). I tried the ROM on my Analogue NT Mini Noir and it also freezes at the first intro dialogue box. My guess would be that the translation relies on specific emulator behaviour, and thus doesn't work on real hardware. EDIT: check...

yeah that is a crazy path. Could be the !, could be the length, could be something inside the cue that isn't referencing the iso/bin correctly. The CD images are verified with the TOSEC IBM-PC CDROM .dat and they work if loaded manually, but not through IMGSET.EXE.
